We were met with a pot of tea and cake which was lovely after our journey. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and I also found that the recommendations of places to eat and sites to see were superb. I would definately stay again and strongly encourage others to do so. An all round excellent hotel which is perfect for a stay in the beautiful surrounding area.

The property is very well maintained , comfortable and warm. It is ideally situated as a base for visiting the area.The welcome and attention from Dick and Sue was second to none . They were both very friendly, helpful and definitely added considerably to our enjoyment of our stay in the area.We stayed with elderly parents who have limited mobility and they were made very welcome .The stairs to the rooms on the first floor presented little problem to them.We have no hesitation in recommending

Very helpful staff from the moment I arrived. As a hill walker all I want is good clean and comfortable accommodation to return to each day which I got. Breakfasts were excellent, a good start to a day in the hills.

Hosts, Wills & Pauline were very friendly, meet & greet as well as discussions at different times, it was almost like being with friends.
Room 9 was clean with a lovely view to the west.
Bathroom was well sized, clean with modern fittings.
Breakfast was plentiful, good homestyle cooking.
Hope to come back again.

The lovely welcome and really super accommodation. Loved the owners and would have liked to stay longer. Easy to get to all places we wanted to visit and also had parking on the side of the property. Wonderful breakfasts. Enjoyed the TV and had our own key to come and go as we liked. -

Kays Cottage is a lovely place to stay to visit Windermere and beyond. Close to village centre and the lake and ideally situated for the main routes to other parts of the Lake District yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The welcome and service could not be more friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. Breakfast is perfect and all of the rooms have thoughtful extra touches, choice of teas and coffees, biscuits and toiletries.

It couldn't have been better! Barbara and Chris are perfectionists in all they do. We stayed in a family room with our 2 pets which was perfect for us. The hotel communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well decorated. Lovely room overlooking the rear gardens. Breakfast was exceptional due to the choice and flexibility of options available. Owners and staff were friendly, but left you to your own devices, which was good. I am a wheelchair user (complete paraplegic) and found the access to be excellent. I would go as far to say that Meadowcroft is probably one of the best places I've stayed for disabled room facilities. The option to book a disabled room from the website is a very good touch, I usually have to phone ahead to confirm that the room is appropriate for my needs and available, which this function eleviated, if only other sites/hotels did this.
The room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean.
