Fantastic environment for a family trip to marwell zoo! We loved theattention to detail in the hotel and rooms even down to the animal printmugs and penguin biscuits! There were nice shops and sightseeing areas nearby. The staff was quite
friendly and the pub had really good food and drinks. The stairwell and
hallways were kind of like a tiny maze but we found that to be charming.

We loved everything : this place is the perfect place to stay : comfortable and friendly. It's a local pub in a residential neighbourhood. The rooms (recently refurbished) are above the pub, but there is really no noise to be heard. Very good bed. There is a restaurant and the cooking was simple and delicious. All the staff we came into contact with were curteous, friendly and helpful.
The Hotel and rooms were very clean.
Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice of food.
Ample parking.
Handy for Winchester.
Though there were Christmas Parties being held in the hotel function rooms there was no noise intrusion.

Decor light and airy, spaciousness, restaurant excellent, beds very comfy. Breakfast good though a little disjointed in selection, no continuity, eggs ordered separately and delivered to table before we had finished our cereals.Lovely hotel, good parking and peaceful.

Lovely setting. Excellent communications when I had reason to contact the hotel directly. The recently refurbished rooms and restaurant were a real treat and the food was yummy. We booked some time ago and the new owners honoured our booking price which made our trip the bargain of the Century. Good Luck with Your new acquisition. -

Arriving in the middle of a period of hot weather we were initially very uncomfortable in our room but the management went out and bought a fan. The food in the restaurant was very good and staff very helpful. Only a 10 minute drive into Winchester.

Very clean and high quality new, well-appointed accommodation, medium comfort large bed with a nice white sheets & duvet, plenty of space in the room, the fridge was a welcome extra. The bathroom facilities were very good. Close to the main attractions (10 minute walk to the main street). Plus most attractions in walking distance. They now have a blind, which seemed an issue (from another feedback) and the room is very private.

Amy gave us an excellent welcome on arrival. the room was extremely clean and comfortable. since we were leaving early the next day, the staff brought over many food items for us to be able to have some breakfast before leaving. the food at the for and hound is very well priced and of very good quality.
