The Crown Hotel - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
Weymouth is a beautiful seaside/harbour town.
As soon as we walked through the door of our hotel, we were greeted with a welcoming
lobby and helpful, friendly staff.
Our room was lovely and clean - on the front by the bridge.
Breakfast was superb! Waiter/waitress service - much nicer than buffet
style. Nothing was too much trouble, I could hear people around us
asking for various different items and the answer was always the same -
yes sir/madam no problems. Food was hot and tasty. service was. tous commentaires »
Emma the receptionist & Nicki the waitress were huge ambassadors for this hotel. We arrived at about 7.40pm which was 20 minutes after the dining room was due to close. Emma went and saw Nicki and organised that we would still get a meal, then she used a short cut for me to bring our luggage in from the back car park and stored it in reception so we could go and eat, talk about above and beyond, this was service of the highest order. Nicki gave us top class service during our meal as if we .
The friendly welcome, happy & polite staff, room was spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable.Breakfast was amazing, with table service. The waitresses were happy, smiling as they went about there work, so very efficient & nothing was too much trouble. The staff at the Crown Hotel deserve a commendation & the star rating in no way reflects the quality & high standards maintained at this establishment. Location is perfect for the harbour, shops & beach too.I enjoyed my short stay.
I booked this venue for a partucular reason. I have stayed there before in June 2011and during this stay met my fiance who was also staying at the hotel so we decided to return there for Valentines Day this year. The staff are exeptionally friendly and eager to assist in any way. The only meal we consumed at the hotel was breakfast which was very good. The room was clean and contained all necessary items as specified when booking. All in all an enjoyable stay and a place to which we would retur.
I arrived by bicycle and was shown a room in the hotel that I could
keep the bike in. The staff were helpful. The room was kept very clean
and was comfortable, with plenty of tea and milk pots. The room was
larger than I had expected. The breakfasts were good - oddly, you had
to order your cereal from the waiter/waitress as well as the
cooked breakfast, but there were plenty of options for both. The hotel
was convenient for walking to the beach, and for cycling around the
Dorset countryside. It.
Staff were friendly and helpful, let us put our bags in a holding room as we turned up early, so we went to the pub. We didn't make breakfast the next morning but on walking through the restaurant/bar we wish we had as it looked pretty good. The location on our opinion is perfect, not on the seafront but in the centre of town,5 mins walk from the seafront, if you know Weymouth then the hotel is by the drawbridge at the top of the high street.
Very helpfull staff..First Class Room..A very very good breakfast which was hot and served without any delay in a busy breakfast room..and for us a very good price..We arrived in Weymouth at 09.30hrs and staff allowed us to leave our bags and park our car in the garage a little bit later which was very helpfull. All in all a very very pleasant visit and one we will be repeating at the same venu. Well done to all concerned.
The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble for any of them no matter what their role was. The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance of all amenities. We ate in the vaults restaurant on two nights and the food was great and excellent value for money and nicki our waitress was great. Emma on reception was a scream and Gary was very helpful with arranging our on site parking.
I was so impressed with the hotel the cost was so reasonable and included breakfast which was delicious, as was our evening meal too. Staff were so warm and friendli, lovely place to stay. My room was spotless, yep did look for dust etc couldn't find any. The bathroom was so clen it was super shiny you cannot fault the superior standard of cleanliness and hospitality.
My wife and I decided to visit the beautiful town of weymouth for a
romantic evening - night and visit our favourite fish restaurant. On
arrival we where a little surprised at the aged building from the
outside but once inside we enjoyed our stay although aged the crown is
a gem. The room was good the breakfast was ample and tasty. The staff
very friendly.
Location very good for harbour area and shops I was lucky on my stay 7/10th of November to get our car in the Hotel garage. We were caught in a Callander time warp not realising it was the hotels Turkey & Tinsel season thus coach load of Seniors having their annual outing, no problem with this as this gave us the opportunity to park in secure garage.
The staff were excellent without exception. Proper breakfast waiter service - superb, no buffet. Ideal location for harbour, restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs, and shops. Unbelievable high standard for price and 2 star rating, but no wi fi and car parking facilities made rating understandable. I enjoyed walk along harbour to Pavilion car park.
Everything was wonderful, the staff were brilliant, nothing seemed to
much trouble for any of them. Made to feel like we were staying with
family and not a business. Food plain fair but tasty and plenty of it.
Extremely good value for money! Certainly not overcharged in the
slightest. Will return and can highly recommend for value for money.
Everything about the hotel was positive. Staff trying to assist with
parking, breakfast staff were superb, room comfortable with power shower
to relax in to perfect location for sea, harbour and walks to Portland.
Excellent chip-shop on doorstep and close-by good class restaurants.
Everything for a true British Holiday.
Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Room comfortable with lovely view over the quayside and bridge. Breakfast good. Served to the table but you could order anything if u wanted to. Bare in mind rooms at front can be noisy as hotel is in busy area. However didnt bother us. Would definitely go again.
On immediate arrival to the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff who smiled! The hotel itself gave basic accommodation but everything, down to breakfast in the morning, was organised methodically to a tee. We would quite happily stay at The Crown again ... Hopefully looking at next year already!.
The staff were very polite and helpful , the rooms were spotlessly clean. In particular, the breakfast and the way in which you were served and treated by the staff was 1st class. This Hotel deserves to be more than the rating it's presently at. Bravo to the staff and Hotel for a memorable stay.
The hotel is excellent the staff are brilliant all really friendly
and very helpful especially jamal and ray is a legend this is our
fourth stay in the last year and a half we brought my mother this
time who is in a wheelchair and she thoroughly enjoyed it and wants
to come again very soon.
Location very good for all amenities within Weymouth. We arrived late [11.00 pm] check in was carried out within a few minutes by very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms clean and well appointed. The price was excellent given its town centre location ,good food and friendly efficient staff.
I was in a single room which was quiet, clean and easy to access. Despite being full (july) breakfast was handled efficiently, The price was very attractive, as was the central location. I parked in my car in the lock-up garage and left it for 3 days and forgot about it. I shall return!.
Both the puplic rooms and bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient, polite and friendly. The food was of a good standard with waiter/waitress service. Public and resident bars available. Central to shops, harbour and beach. very happy to stay here again.
All the staff ere very friendly and welcoming , also asking if we needed
help with our luggage as we had a wheelchair. Waiting staff in
restaurant are very quick and they have breakfast down to a fine art.
Excellent service.A Very relaxing Hotel with a lovely upstairs lounge .
The lcation is ideal for the harbour, all hotel employees demonstrated, at all times excellent customer service, in particualr the Dining room team were seamless and are truly an excellent example of how to deliver customer service focused service, especially Maureen.
Fantastic staff, very helpful especially Lee on Reception and the night porter who I think was Ronald, (from Yorkshire). Everyone went out of their way to help with anything. The breakfast was lovely too.
The location for us was ideal and pleasantly surprised.
Very comfortable hotel, very clean, nice room and good bathroom with excellent shower. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the hotel has a nice bar. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.
The staff are outstanding, very friendly, they go out of their way to help, I cannot praise them enough. Next has to be the location, next to the harbour, the shops and restaurants, excellant. This hotel represents really good value for money.
Small but comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff, evening meal price very reasonable and large portions definitely felt I got value for money, just the disappointment with cooked breakfast but would willingly book this hotel again.
Staff extremely helpful. One member of Reception staff even took the
trouble to call our room to inform us of a firework display that
evening. Location very good for beach and shopping. Restaurant food very
good. Room very clean and comfy.
the hotel was comfortable warm and welcoming all the staff were helpful nothing was too much trouble. the location is good and flat for walking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in fact I have just booked another week there in july.
We liked the location,as my husband has walking difficulties we were very Central. The staff were very friendly our room was cleaned daily and the breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our three night stay and will definitely return.
Hotel in great location. Good value for money. Room basic but perfectly adequate and clean. Very nice inclusive breakfast. The hotel exceeded my expectations and the staff were all very friendly. Would certainly stay here again.
staff was great real friendly .ron the table waiter in the evening showed real experience in serving everyone with out getting in a flap especialy when busy ,room was kept very clean, really good valve for money ,food very good.
I have stayed at the Crown a couple of times now , and i have looked at other Hotels but keep coming back to the Crown , I love the friendly staff and location of the hotel , Also the food is great and everything is clean .
We liked everything about the hotel, all from the receptionist to the
chef in the kitchen - if it was not for these people there would not
have been any hotel. Clean, friendly staff, and very good food, never
left hungry.
location was excellent, employees were friendly, my son was ill whilst we were there and they asked how he was everytime we saw someone. very clean. Breakfast was excellent, you could ask for more with no questions.
Location, right in the centre by the harbour, though a little noisy at night, windows were closed to block out noise, very hot in room, asked reception for a fan, bought one up in less than 5 minutes. very impressed,.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Room clean and tidy.Generous portions of hot food served promptly. Comfortable beds. Everything we needed for our stay was readily available.
Very good value for money, will stay again.
the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and we was able to go into our room early without even asking. The room and breakfast was excellent and location of hotel brilliant we will be back.
Excellent value for money, staff couldn't be more helpful, comfortable, clean and ideal location in one of the best seaside towns in England. Stayed as a stopover en route to Cornwall. Recommended.
we really enjoyed our stay, the staff were really freindly and helpfull, breakfast was good. an ideal location to all amenities, would deffinatly stay again and recommend to freinds and family.
From the moment we arrived, the gentleman on the desk who we think was named Lee was so friendly & obliging and made us feel very welcome as did all the rest of the staff during our stay.
Staff so helpful in all departments, Hotel Manager also nice to speak to at all times just like the rest of his team. Rooms very clean, breakfast and food excellent. Would stay again.
Everything was great, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Great location, clean and tidy. Will be going back! We had a lovely two night break. Big Thank you's to the Staff! :D x.
Hotel was in a really good location, staff were helpful and the room was an ok size - small by fine for a weekend. Breakfast was a good size and staff were really keen to please.
Very convenient for coming off the ferry. Central location in town. Able to get the car off the road. Friendly helpful staff. Quick but good and fresh breakfast. Very good value.
We found the room very clean and tidy and the staff extremely friendly. Breakfast was very good quality with the speed of service outstanding. We will definitely stay here again.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the location was great for what we visited for. Lastly the price was good for two people two breakfasts and two nights.
easy to find, close to the train station/ bus station. Room better than I had expected. Cosy and helpful staff, I liked that it had a singer on even on a monday night.
Rooms were a good size and clean.
Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Bar and Restaurant facilities were very comfortable.
Location was suburb.
Breakfast excellent.
The outstanding way the staff performed their duties and the way they went out of their way to help me once they realised my disability. The breakfasts were excellent.
Parking - this seems to be the same though for most hotels in Weymouth.
Unfortunately the plumbing must have run down behind the wall that the bed head rested against and every time somebody upstairs turned on a tap or flushed the toilet we heard it running down behind the wall. Parking was a bit of a problem. Apart from that an enjoyable stay.
I could find no faults whatsoever during my visit with anything.
There was nothing I/we disliked about the hotel or our stay.
The hotel's single-glazed windows did not shield the noise from
outside. On my first night (a Wednesday!) I was kept awake until 3am by
a fight outside. Generally, the youths are loud as they leave the pubs
and clubs nearby between midnight and 2am. I would have preferred a
larger shower stall.
The only negative really is that the rooms are started to look dated and it's a bit of crystal maze to find your room, especially after a few drinks!.
"THE SEAGULLS" and I am aware the hotel can do nothing about that or the garbage left out by flats next door which attracted the birds, avoid room 16.
Breakfast could have been hotter although whatever you wanted they would oblige.
The only downside was the fact that it a little too noisy at night due to clubs and pubs around it.
Just the car parking facility. £ 10 for a space in the bowling ally car
park at the back of the hotel.
Only one issue a club across the road open quite late? So some noise issues if a light sleeper.
There was nothing I disliked.
A little noisy at night sometimes, but that wasn't the hotels fault.
Perhaps an update on décor/carpets etc, but the rooms were clean
light and well maintained. Car parking an issue as we were parked at the
pavilion but it wasn't a major problem, and no more of a nuisance
than any other hotel in the area.
With windows open on front rooms it was possible (if required) to join
in late night revellers joviality.
I did not dislike anything about the Hotel.
There was nothing not to like brilliant x.
Nothing - would return again.
Bedrooms could benefit from double/secondary glazing.Otherwise difficult to find any faults.
Nothing we were not happy with , will deffinetly be going there again.
The front of the Hotel, room 68 was clean and well appointed .. but the night club across the road, and its revellers can make alot of noise, music stopped at 05:00am sat morning! Not the Hotels fault but, you will not get a good nights rest in that room..!.
The décor was a bit dated and small holes in the net in the windows. Though for the price, can't complain, though would be nice if brightened up a little.
Nothing to dislike.
No negative points.
The full English breakfsst consisted of one plain sausage to bacon rashers and one fried egg and tinned tomatoes, no fried bread mushrooms or beans and was served on a side plate, admittedly there was plenty of toast and juice or cerial and the coffee pot was placed on the table with a jug of fresh milk but the cooked was a great disappointment, this however would be my only complaint at the price we paid.
We had a room on the busy main street and it was quite noisy into the
night and early in the morning.
I did not complain because other than that, everything was great.
There was nothing we disliked.
Nothing not to like.
parking was an issue , i was informed it would be £20 per stay in near by carpark only to pay £40 to stay in the bowling car park '.
Well its my choice to stay at the Crown and found it very noisy from the club over the road , But was happy to put up with it for the wkend , but would like a room away from the road if i did stay longer .
nothing!.
nothing comes tomind.
No complaints other than about the whining Brit reviewers blathering on and on about the seagulls and the street noise . It's a popular seaside town catering for all ages in the height of the season . Get a life you lot !.
Can get a little nosiy at night but due to the location you would expect that.
Nothing that we didn't like - but a bit of shampoo would have helped.
Experienced some noise from the late night revellers and early morning street cleaning but this is the price you pay for such a central location. We will request a high room at the rear next time.
Breakfast should be on until a later time, also it was very small, cold and not very tastey.
Felt like a stereo typical "old persons" hotel. Could do with an uplift. Apart from that it was perfect :-D.
Parking was a bit far away, but no real problem.
The noise generated from the Club opposite.
