  The room and the house are very smart in a traditional style. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room lacked nothing. The staff are charming and the service is nearly faultless.   Me and a friend booked this last minute to go to a concert in town. We actually ended up being upgraded so as you can imagine this made us very happy! The man who runs it all was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful apartment, right in town and close to both the train and bus station.   The owner was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and lovely and bright due to the double aspect. (No. 5) The bed was extremely comfy with lovely white bedding. The kitchenette area was very useful and well planned. The fan was a welcome addition to the room as the windows don't open so without the fan the room would have been too hot. We ate there in the evening too and the food was d - Our stay was an unplanned last-minute one and although it was past the normal checking in times we were still made most welcome. The room was smart, clean and comfortable with everything you need. The hotel has a modern but homely feel to it and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to stay in the area.

  I chose Elm Lodge Guest House for my family and best friends to come to stay for 3 nights for my wedding, and I stayed there myself for one night. I booked the whole of the 3 bedrooms. I loved everything - Andy had a very warm welcome for us, and added a very special touch to my parents and friends', and my own stay. On the night before the wedding he gave us a bottle of champagne, - Our studio apartment was so lovely we wanted to move in! Large rooms are in a lovely Victorian house. Breakfast around a large table in the dining room which was great, all the guests were in conversation as we were served a lovely breakfast. Large garden, nice area of city.Andy and his son were so friendly and welcoming. Stay here!

Can't say enough good things about the service.... Thank you!!!

  Great value for money (when booked through this site and on weekends). Modern decor and still very cozy and welcoming. Helpful, friendly staff.
