  Kensington is a very good part of London to stay for a short break. There are of couple of lovely restaurants in the neighborhood, but you have to take a closer look at the menu before you enter, because prices are very different and high prices do not guarantee a good meal. Restaurants we visited: Sporano's is a very good restaurant if you like Italian food besides pizza and - We benefitted from a very special deal due to refurbishment. The price was superb for the location and the room on the 7th floor was so quiet. It was ideal for exploring this end of London. The seating areas in the foyer were wonderfully relaxing, especially on a wet morning. It was so near the Metro and yet, so peaceful. Plenty of shops and cafes, nearby. Spotlessly clean, lovely bed and cosy and warm.

  The staff was very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping filled up the welcome tray day by day for free. The WiFi was free as well. There was an iPod dock which also had an alarm function. Next to trams and bus stops (some buses are 24 hour) and East Croydon station with fast trains to Victoria and London Brigde which each take approx. 15Mins. Most importantly, the rooms are clean. Requests were dealt with immediately and we even got a tour of the hotel as we were interested in the history and architecture. The location is ideal.
