  The location of The Ship is good, in a lovely village. We were able to park right outside the door. Staff were welcoming and the room was lrge, very comfortable, with everything we needed and nice extras like bottled water and biscuits. The breakfast choice was excellent and we also had an evening meal which was very nice, with generous portions. ... ce que les gens disent » - Needed to stay in Gatehouse of Fleet for business and found the ship-inn was ideal for this. The room was very clean and comfortable with Wi-Fi which allowed me to work in room. The food was great and I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. All in all a great stayed which I would recommend to anyone.

  Home from home, commanding views over Scotland's boarder country this olde worlde Scottish town is right on the m74, but very peaceful and with loads to do. The hotel is well appointed friendly to all and welcomes bikers with little bike garages. The bar sells Innes and Gunn beers one of Scotland's best kept secrets and not to be missed. Simply a great place to stay. - The friendliness and sense of humour of the staff, the restaurant (really great food, not the usual English fried stuff, although they do serve a very good fish and chips), their initiative, although we didn't book it (not too sure when we would be back) they did keep a table for us in their restaurant for Saturday evening just in case we wanted to dine with them. Which, of course, we did!
