This is no ordinary B & B but a century old pub situated in a quiet residential area, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 from the city centre, with friendly helpful staff and excellent food at a good price. I stayed two nights and had intended going into the city for the evenings but ate and drank in the pub instead, great food and cask ales I really enjoyed it - even the locals were friendly! The rooms are quirky but incredibly comfortable with amazing views over the river - my room had four rooms with dual aspect. The jacuzzi was special and even the toiletries were excellent quality. We looked at Malmaison but thought it was too much for what it was so
when we found this one at such a fab price, we booked it immediately! 15

It is a well run B&B and the owner allowed me to check in earlier. Not a very chatty person, but answered questions adequately. Very clean and everything expected provided. Location convenient for traveling and yet in a quiet surbub. I thoughtI was the only guest the way it was quiet till I discovered other guests at breakfast. Breakfast generous too.

I loved everything about The Boacardo and would recommend it to anyone. They went out of their way to give us an early check in, helped by holding our bags after our stay while we did a tour, recommended a good food pub, offered adapters, had quality toiletries, etc. Beds were comfortable, and temperature could be controlled by us.This was a delightful hotel which I would stay in again.

The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, offering coffee if you were sitting in the common area and making individual portions of English breakfast for each guest in the morning. The building has character and is pretty, with a really nice veranda where breakfast is served. The location was pretty convenient - about 20 minutes from the center of the city.
