  We knew roughly where we wanted to stop on our driving holiday but couldn't decide on where specifically and we ended up going for this one mainly due to the reviews. I don't think the reviews do this place justice. It's an old lodge which is much bigger than it looks on the website. It was a bit similar to being in a Miss Marple or Poirot episode with hight ceilings an - Stunning location opposite the Loch, beautiful lodge which you can see as you drive across the nearby bridge. Unfortunately there was a slight mix up with our booking (which they were totally honest about), but they arranged a nice replacement hotel, gave us a bottle of wine and an upgrade for our second night (to the amazing double suite) so there were definitely no complaints from our side. The Suite was very spacious and the bed was superb. Views out onto the loch were also pretty special! A

  Having read other reviews I had mixed feelings of how our stay would be and all I can say is for those who wrote a bad review "I don't know what your expectations are!" I have stayed in 5 star hotels and this is by far the the friendliest hotel I've ever stayed in. Rosemary you are a star! I've never felt so relaxed and so welcome. The room was fa... ce que les gens disent » ntastic, breakfast is continental (cooked breakfast is to order at £5 but in honesty there is more than enough if you have continental..plenty fruits, - Very friendly welcome, staff friendly and helpful, room clean and tidy, superb view, comfortable bed, warm room. Open log fire blazing in the lounge which beat off the cold outside beautifully. Breakfast good - an all-you-can eat continental buffet (a cooked breakfast is extra but not really needed given the quantity of food laid out). Evening meal very good too, wish I'd eaten in on both nights. (The obviously home-made soup was superb). Staff helpful when I asked if I could come down early
