Ce que les gens disent
Incredible place under railway bridge which looks like a film set from a movie shot according to some Jules Verne book. It feels so very Victorian and British like no other place we have been to in Scotland. The pub has above average cook (at least for Scottish standards) and is meeting place for the local community which was another great experience. The reason why we chose it in the first place was that it is just 10 minutes drive from the airport and inexpensive. But it was a true touristic . tous commentaires »
Apart from the breathtaking view from the hotel window , the whole place has a welcoming feel , with attentive staff making it a lovely stay . The bar area was lively and the meals were good value for money . The rooms have been refurbished and the bathroom fittings are all brand new and modern. The location is ideal as it is 5 mins walk , albeit up a steep brae , to the railway station with frequent trains into the capital . If you liked the film Local Hero then you will love this hotel !.
We loved the food though we were stuffed and couldnt manage the desserts. Room was lovely although I was gutted we had the view going onto the street instead of the water and railway bridge. Bathroom was lovely and clean, good shower. Location was fab just where we wanted!.
This older style pub has upgraded their accommodation to a very good standard and are planning further renovations. In the meantime the staff are friendly and helpful, the bar meals are of a good standard and it is value for money.
Stopped for 5 nights, first thing I will mention was the staff, what a helpful bunch they were, nothing was out their way for them, and their local knowledge was very interesting. The rooms are clean and modern.
Beautiful setting, supremely warm and helpful staff. Easy train ride into the heart of Edinburgh. Lovely nature path for walking/running. Fantastic cafe (Ramkins) and restaurant (the wee restaurant) nearby.
Our main reason for staying was the close proximity to the airport.
After we arrived, we loved being in a village. Also, the room was among
the top two for comfort in during the 16 days we were in Scotland.
Lovely welcome, staff friendly. Large comfortable room. Games and books to borrow. Good breakfast. All aspects from start to finish excellent. Everyone do friendly - real home from home. Thank you.
It was a perfect location for Deep Sea World as that's where we were going. Great value for money! Beautiful scenery. Food was brilliant too and the overall stay was great, so relaxing!.
The young woman who was managing the reception and acting as the bartender was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both my wife and I appreciated how we were received and helped out.
Spectacular location practically right under the Forth Bridge. Friendly staff, very comfortable beds in the room we were in. Good, leisurely breakfast with nice, chatty waitress.
Friendly helpful staff as we had an early morning to attend an event were offered sandwiches to take with us instead of breakfast one morning which was very much appreciated.
Fabulous location on the water under the Forth railway bridge. Great bar with excellent food at modest prices. Full hot breakfast. Recently refurbished rooms.
Rooms had just been refurbished , staff were helpfull & friendly ,
and honest ( wife left her handbag in the bar , batman bourght it up to
our room ).
Fantastic location at the Forth Railway Bridge. Wonderful views
from bedroom window. Good bar with nice selection of Scottish real
ales (bottled).
Beautiful views of the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, modern, well appointed room, huge double bed, friendly staff, excellent value for money.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Albert! Everyone was extremely hospitable and we loved the small town charm and unique location.
Incredible position and outlook.
Pleasant pub atomosphere downstairs but quiet in room.
Good-value menu with some interesting ideas.
very friendly, clean, with a flexible attitude. Food, very nice, home made lentil soup delicious, and fish and chips very fresh.
A fantastic location, excellent rooms and great food. Really friendly staff and the best view of the rail bridge ever.
beautiful view at the hotel, close to the airport, it take arond 15 minuntes to airport by car if no traffic jam.
very helpful staff, breakfast ,views, rooms ,location , train station 10min walk and 20 min journey to waverly.
The view from the bedroom of the Forth Bridge. The staff were friendly. The bed was very comfortable.
The fact that they catered for my coeliac diet. Huge bed. On-suite facilities. Great views.

The location.
Nice views.
Location.
The Albert Hotel is well situated with a perfect view of the Forth Railway bridge. The room was clean with everything you need, even an ironing board. The bed was very comfortable too. This is worth booking for the location but is more of a 1-2 night stopover. Good rail connection to Edinburghs centre. Compared with Edinburgh the price for the room was good.
Loved the location
Beside the wonderful Forth Railway Bridge illuminated at night breathtaking
The room was comfortable
The price was okay.
The hotel situation is great!! Big rooms, nice hotel.
Location. Dinner was good.
I think there was only one person attending at breakfast ie. Cooking , filling up coffee pots etc , which is obviously not ideal when the hotel is busy. Only a small shaving mirror in the bathroom .
We felt like outsiders in a little cosied up village really. Think it was all the locals in the pub. So felt a bit uncomfortable like we were intruding.
Be aware that this is an Inn, there will be noise from the bar, however this did not bother us one bit.
The noise of the trains, but that stopped by bedtime.
Nothing.
There was a slight issue with cleanliness at breakfast. The milk jug I had with my tea had custard on the front of it all dried in from the night before. Other than that everything was great!.
There wasn't much parking.
If this can be classed as a fault breakfast portions were too big. Bit of noise from bar at night but did not spoil our stay.
Nothing really.
Haggis for breakfast , ( but was optional ).
Nothing. Would go back in a flash.
Nothing.
Arrival was a strange; had to sit in bar waiting to be checked in.
There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.
The wine in the downstairs bar could choke a moose.
A bit remote - wouldn't suit anyone who likes to look around local shops etc - not necessarily a bad thing!.
but there were some drunks apparently from pub that areliving in the house disturbing almost whole night. its not problem of hotel but drinking habits in scotland.
We couldn't stay longer!.
N/A.
Very slight noise from bar below in evening, but you'd need to be a very light sleeper to notice this ..
one very minor issue, huge breakfast the bacon very salty.
The only thing that I didn't like was the draft from the door when the patrons went outside to smoke it made the bar cold.
limited parking.
Noisy music in bar.
Nothing to dislike.
Nothing.
Windows Do Not realy open.
bar /food some of the items on menu none left on both night as there is limited place to eat in vacinity not good.
Nothing.
Couldn't open a window in the room. Breakfast was self-service, little on offer for Continental breakfast eaters. The room itself was a little untidy too. Staff were untrained and the cutlery was not clean. It's a real pity, you could really do something nice with the breakfast area with a bit more care and attention to detail and improved hygiene. One qualified person could work wonders here.
no dislikes.
More cleaning in bathroom and breakfast area, with those things it would be a perfect place.
No shaving mirror on wall
Only one bedside light
Had to make my own breakfast coffee
I was expecting full Scottish breakfast not just Eggs Bacon and tomatoe.
