Particularly the helpful staff. But really most things. I am used to 'no frills' being synonymous with 'poor service and facilities', but here the staff were charming and helpful, and the level of comfort well above the standard provided by many much more expensive hotels.

Clean and efficient though generic. Excellent value for money for midweek stay. Environmentally concious. You can have money taken for not having hosekeeping everyday.
Staff very young but eager to please. Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement.
Close to Fratton Station.

Hosts were very welcoming. Room was a good size and the bed was very comfy. Small bathroom - but adequate and spotless. Breakfast was really good. The whole place had a lovely gentle feel about it. Loved it! Would have no hesitation to book again when in that area and would certainly encourage others to use it! -

We liked the location of the hotel. It was always heated nicely. It was a peaceful area. We stayed in a superior room at the top of the house, it was really big and bright and very quiet.
The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is very close to the seafront and it is a lovely stroll along the promenade, you can walk all the way to Portsmouth old town, however Southsea centre is close by.
