We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).
Loved my stay.

The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel like old friends although it was our first visit. The food was very good. It is the first hotel I have stayed at where , on ordering a Kipper Fillet for breakfast the

A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. We shall be returning to the Keswick area in September and plan to .rebook for dinner especially as one of our guests is Gluten intolerant hence it is very important to have confidence in the k

Malcolm and Jennifer could not have been more welcoming. A lovely quiet hotel a short stroll from the town centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the breakfasts were magnificent. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone else. -
