We received a very friendly greeting from Nicky, as though she had been waiting for the arrival of someone she already knew. The breakfasts were excellent, and the tables in the dining room were not too close together. Our room had a lovely view over the garden, and was very peaceful. A bonus was getting to meet the two dogs. Only in the hallway

This is our second time staying and we were very pleased to be going back. Owner is very friendly and the rooms we have had had been recently refurbished and are clean and comfortable. High quality breakfast and very relaxed feel. Best bits of staying in a hotel and some one's home.

a very friendly and easy-going welcome to the hotel. a great family to stay with, lovely breakfast, amazing view from our room at the rear of the hotel. Julie wanted to take the bird home and i wanted the chameleon! mum loved her comfy bed and the black pudding! we didnt want to leave. will def recommend and use ourselves if we need to stay anywher

We recommend this to anyone looking for a family run hotel who are planning to stay in Ilfracombe or visit the surrounding area. We really liked it...thanks Ian...regards to Boris.

Our favourite hotel on our trip.We booked a small room with en suite and it was very comfortable. The location of the hotel was brilliant, right on the harbour. Ideally situated right next to the harbour. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast and huge portions. Nothing was too much trouble and even carried our bags up to our room when we said we could manage. Highly recommend paying the extra for a luxury room, the spa bath was fantastic size with plenty of hot water and room for two! Also the huge bed was straight out of fifty shades and really comfy.

The waiters, waitresses and bar staff were very nice. Andy and Keeley especially were nice and friendly and good at their job - always smiling. They made our stay very enjoyable and were very helpful and chatty. They got on with our kids great.
The pool and hot tub was nice. The views were the best I've ever seen. Absolutely spectacular. L

Had read some early bad reports from a while back, and went with some reservation. There was no need to worry. All aspects of our stay was brilliant. We in particular enjoyed the two evening dinners we had in the restaurant.

Liked the small Lounge that had a fridge for me to store some ready
meals and food for making up sandwiches. There was a microwave and a
sink with cleaning materials washing up liquid etc and owners had left
things like cling film/sandwich bags/paper
napkins/stickers to label your food in fridge. Also plates,
cutlery, glasses. All very thoughtful

We both really enjoyed our stay at Sherborne. We had a marvellous welcome. The room was nice and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast they serve was brilliant and good value. The fact that they are one of very few guest houses in Ilfracombe with their own parking was a valuable extra bonus. I am so pleased that we stayed at this lovely guest house

current owners have spent a lot of time & money improving the site
and are doing a great job. We stayed in Daisy which is perfect for

The harbour. It was amazing how in the morning one can actually swim in the clean sea, where the spring meets the ocean, and in the evening one can actually walk along the seabed!! The chalet is clean and quite comfortable with a back garden where the children can play. The on site playing ground for the children was an added bonus as was the close walk to the harbour. The location between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin is also convenient, as is the nearby Watermouth Castle, right opposite the str

The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you, the room was very clean, a very pleasant place to stay, breakfast in the morning was freshly cook just right, i would have no problem recommending the Strathmore to anybody. It does exactly what it says on the tin for the price, i would use the Strathmore again. -
