  A lovely period property a few miles from Barnstaple along the quiet a39. Jo gave us a very friendly welcome, with tea and cake served in the conservatory to restore body and soul following our journey south. The room was well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable - don't think I've slept so well in ages. Yes, you do have to drive to dinner - we took Jo's recommendation of Squire's fish a - Our hosts David & Jo were very friendly without being over the top, just right for us. The house has had a lot of work done on it and it shows; very clean and tidy. The rooms are each unique, not large but well appointed and our bed was very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide choice from juices and cereals to a variety of cooked dishes and the Devon special is warmly recommended especially if intending to walk in the area later.
