Dros y Dŵr is perched high above the Mawddach estuary with stunning views across the water to Cader Idris. Free Wi-Fi is accessible in each room, from which guests can enjoy striking mountain and sea views.
Barmouth’s beachfront is within a 5-minute walk of Dros y Dŵr. The ruggedly beautiful hills in Snowdonia National Park are also a 5-minute walk away. Walking guides and maps can be borrowed from this bed and breakfast.
As there is no TV in the rooms, guests can relax and peacefully enjoy the wonderful views from the window.
Home-baked breads and homemade jams feature on the breakfast menu, as well as locally sourced bacon and sausages from the local butcher. You can also enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, or homemade muesli.
During July and August you can travel the Cambrian coastline by steam train, and it is 30 miles to the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Harlech Castle is a 25-minute drive from the building.

From the moment we booked, we were receiving recommendations and tips from Yuup and John. They are the perfect hosts, will be there to greet you, all logistics are smooth but – equally – they give you all the private space you need. It’s a very liberal place – if you’re reading a novel from the (impressive) library and want to take it with you, you’re most welcome. A superb B&B, the best I've ever stayed in. Run by a really nice couple, who really do take an interest in guests and how you can get the best out of your stay. Sizeable and spotless room, with glorious view, really good bed/matress and powerful shower. Fantastic breakfasts, particularly the scrambled egg/salmon. Beautiful location with great beach nearby and walks in the hills readily accessible, though Barmouth itself fairly basic. Would love to come again.
from the moment we arrived to when we left the hospitality was first class. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with an incredible view of the Mawdach Estuary and Cader Idris. The breakfasts were legendary which included bread made by John which was amazing. Coming to Barmouth since i was a child and having stayed in most of the accomodation . This is, in my opinion, easily the best accomodation and you won't be disapointed.
A great B&B with amazing views of the estuary from the rooms. The room i was in was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts are brilliant with a good choice and freshly cooked plus home made bread and preserves. John and Jupp are very hospitable hosts and go out of their way to make guests feel at home. I highly recommend anyone visiting the Barmouth area to stay with them.
This is a wonderful little b&b. our hosts Yuup and John make you feel at home and very welcome. Yuup has a good knowledge of local activities and was able to direct us on various walks around the mountains. Would recommend this b & b to anyone.
A lovely welcome on arrival with tea and cake lovely personal touch .The view from our room was fantastic. Room was spacious bright and very clean . Very relaxing .Everything had a personal touch breakfast great .
The whole three days was wonderful in every respect. To be met at the the station by John was the first of many pleasant surprises which included fantastic breakfasts. John & Jupp are a wonderful team.

Could do with small amount of extra storage space for clothes for two people.

nothing, although for a family with young children it might seem a bit far from the main beach (although the little beach opposite would be ideal for buckets and spades, and the difficulty of parking might be a problem for some.
Some shampoo and conditioner in the shower would have been helpful.
