Convienient, cheerful host. Friendly staff, convenient location and free wireless internet connection. The room and the breakfast were to a good standard for the money.Location, size of bed and room. The casual atmosphere. Lovely comfy bed, nice big clean room and staff very friendly. Good position ample car parking. It was large room with good views across open countryside. Close to where we needed to be.As small hotel limited evening food provision on Sundays. Having to leave so soon. We were disappointed that on returning to the hotel on our second night that the bar was closed at 9:45pm (it was open later the previous night). I believe that the bar could have stayed open later. It was advertised as being only open for a short time, a missed opportuntity I think. Limited breakfast choice. Having to request the door leading to the toilets be unlocked. No prices for drinks or meals were displayed ... you had no idea about the size of the bill until check-out. breakfast was a bit on the small side, only given one slice of toast per person, although tasted very nice.having booked an evening meal for both evenings of our stay the Receptionist on our arrival was unable to confirm that a meal would be available for that evening as there was a party booking. The member of staff did check with the catering staff as to whether a meal would be available. They indicated that it was unusual to provide meals to residents when there was a party booking so we ate elsewher. Despite booking a meal for 6.15, to allow us time to drive into Norwich for the Theatre, it wasn't served until 6.45! My meal was average but the vegetarian option was very poor although the staff had professed to be able to cook off the menu. Was not terribly impressed by the bare bulds for the lights on the stairs, not to mention the treadbare carpet on the stairs - the holes in the carpet on the noses of the steps will be a trip hazard soon. Interesting array of spiders in the corners of the ceiling in the bathroom, mostly dead though. Staff a bit dozy trying to sort out breakfast orders - bearing in mind only one cookd meal option. Upon arrival, the place was deserted. We saw someone in the car park whotold us they would not be opening the bar or restaurant that night. Wewent into the reception the find the hotel in darkness and an envelopeaddressed to me with the key inside. We were so disgustedwith the lackof service we left without staying. To top it off, they had takenpayment for the hotel two days before!.
