  The Hotel Altair in Santiago de Compostela is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Understated, elegant, unfussy, very polite and ethusiastic staff, great breakfast, very quiet, comfortable and perfectly situated near the centre of the old town. Maybe 100 metres from the Cathedral. This old building has been very well restored. Breakfast was extra but well worth the price, although not a buffet you could ask for extra without incurring any further cost. would recommend this Hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Santiago De Compostela

  The staff was just outstanding. They took it as their job to tell me all about Santiago. When I was sick, they let me stay in the room until 1:30. Victor and Natalie bent over backwards to help. It's a modern design in an old building that takes some getting used to, but not much. And still in a reasonable price bracket. Ideally located in Santiago de compostela easy to walk in the old town and to the train and bus stations. The staff are lovely and the breakfast and common areas are excellent. Id stay again and am booked for another night when I finish my camino walk.

  I have stayed here four times now. On the most recent visit (before this one) I was disappointed by being put in a tiny room with no access to outside ventilation.
