  Lovely apartment situated in a lovely part of Tromso. The owner was so welcoming and even gave us dinner one evening. Thanks to him we also saw the Northern Lights for three hours on our final night from a lake which is a short walk from the apartment. The added bonus is being able to see the Northern lights from the kitchen window. It is a hundred yards from the main shopping street and an easy walk to everything worth visiting.

I particularly liked the heated floor in the bathroom and my single room was clean, large enough with a comfy chair to sit in and a large table on which to organise my bits & pieces. It is close to the town centre and about 50 metres from a bus stop from which a no 42 bus - First of all: this is Norway, which means higher standards and the need for (much) deeper pockets. Having this is mind, the hotel was just fine; you get what you pay for. The breakfast is included in the price, which is something really valuable in this part of the world; the food was ok. The staff was excellent. I asked for a room with a view, I got it. Asked for a taxi, they made the reservation for the morning. Everything was just in place, without great fuss.   A brand new hotel so everything was clean and fresh. Good location within walking distance to "everything". Reasonable price. Comfortable bed exept for the size of it. Due to heavy partying in neighbouring rooms during our stay we reccomended change of room.   Clean, comfortable and friendly. As a nice touch, we arrived way before even standard check out time (let alone check in). However, we were told immediately that the previous people had already left and that reception would do what they could to make the room available asap. We were directed to the lounge and told where we could make a cup of t... ce que les gens disent » ea or coffee (available 24 hours a day); 20 minutes later at most we were told that our room was ready. - Comparatively, ABC Nord hotell is one of the lower priced hotels but the rooms were still comfortable and the large communal Kitchen is a lifesaver for those on a budget - You could easily save a lot by buying fresh fish and salad/vegetables at the grocery store and cooking it yourself, or go all out by cooking a gourmet meal (which I did some people do), or, if you're less ambitious, heat up a frozen pizza or tv dinners in one of their ovens.
