Amsterdam is only 40 minutes away by car and express coach. The bus stops 5 minutes' walk away from the apartment, and will take you directly to the capital. The house is thus in the middle of the Green Heart of the Netherlands. Those who love bicycling and hiking will have more than enough to do. There are vast polders with winding lakes and rivers, alternating with forests and picturesque towns such as Zwammerdam and Nieuwkoop. Of course there are also the surrounding cities of The Hague and Leiden, well worth visiting. Youll also be able to discover the Keukenhof, the bird park AviFauna and the historical outdoor museum Archeon only a short distance away. A large recreation lake, with a manmade sand beach and a water ski run, as well as an 18-hole golf course, can also be found in the immediate area.
