We stayed in a first floor apartment and the staff carried our luggage up the stairs for us and we were told to let them know when we were leaving and they would collect them and carry them downstairs again.   Great central location. The hotel was a good base to explore Mauritius. We hired a car (booked independently) and went to several sights including the Botanical gardens and L'adventure de Sucre, and beaches that weren't too far away. Pool was good.
