Moon is the guesthouse manager and he's the kindest I've ever met. Here are the reasons:

The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location of the pension was absolutely breathtaking. The room had many useful amenities like a fridge/freezer, a stove, and a hair dryer.

Customer service at Pension Polaris was exceptional! Our host, Mr. Noh,
spoke some Englsih, which was really helpful. He offered to pick us up
at the Visitors' Information Center when we arrived at Gyeongju,
gave us a quick tour in his car, showed us how to get around town by
bus, and even took us to the supermarket.

Owner personally greeted us when we checked in. He speaks English very
well. He sat with us with a map and gave us the rundown of the most
efficient way to see the sites, since we were on a tight schedule. He
also gave us instruction sheets on how to get to the major attractions
(and back to the pension from said locations), with addresses in Korean
so you could show taxi drivers. Room was cozy, clean and uniquely
decorated (lots of bright colors!). Kitchenette was useful, bathroom was
standard

I like everything. I booked the rooms based on the reviews on letsbookhotel.com. It was exactly what they said. The location is near to the tourism office, bus-stop and eateries. Location is perfect, 3 minutes away from the express bus terminal. They even offered us a lift from the train station, but we arrived by bus. Many restaurants (very good BBQ restaurant 50 meters from the motel) and shops close by. The room was huge and modern, with everything you need, big spa bathtub, TV, etc. Breakfast served directly in the room at the time you prefer (they arrived a few minutes earlier so that we were still sleeping). I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Gyeon

The host spoke English well and so did her uncle. The uncle made a great breakfast ti start my day and the place was very cozy. It was located very close to the train station and historical sights.

Basically all the positive comments I read before booking are just true. I've travelled quite a lot and I don't remember many other places so welcoming and with such helpful and nice hosts as Mrs. Park.
My visit to Gyeongju was thanks to all her advise and help a very nice holiday.
About the distance to the city, one must know that in Gyeongju all the big hotels are also outside this small city and actually farther than this pension.

Location is good, very close to train station and main bus stop. Although it is difficult to find because it is not on the main street, but if you follow the instruction on their homepage, it is not that hard actually.

It is very conveniently located. Near the Gyeongju Station and with bus
access to Bulguksa temple and Yangdong village (Andong village), #note:
only bus 203 goes directly to entrance of Yangdong village. The other
ancient sites are all within walking distance and there is a covered
market where you can find good food.

Very comfortable beds, very clean rooms
Hotel looks nice from the outside as the inside. Big front desk and nice looking elevators and floors.

Perfect location for sightseeing - only 2 minutes to the main bus station in the center of Gyeongju. The Hotel is perfect - big rooms, a wonderful bathroom (including a whirlpool:-), and even a massage chair. Also a good continental breakfeast is served. The staff speaks english very well and was very helpfull! It was the best Hotel in our three weeks journey trough south korea!

Staff were delightful. Buffet breakfast was scrummy. Other travellers give negative comments about the location but the hotel staff explained the buses and we had no issues. We enjoyed a walk around the lake as a break from the temples.

Location: it was close to the main center of Gyeonggu which means you did not have to travel far for the bus. Also, it was close to fast food, convenient stores, and some big hills that were nice to walk around at night.
He had maps in Korean and English displaying where to go. It was easy to see the things I wanted to see with them.

The hostel was super close to shops, food and historical sites. The bus terminal was also within walking distance, and the entire area was foreigner friendly. The hostel itself was cosy and clean. It was like a little home away from home.
