Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
Great Location! Superb staff! Clean! Perfect!!!!
What a beautiful surprise when we arrived at the hostel. It was situated in the heart of Tokyo, walking distance to most of the town's attractions. Ueno is a culturally rich area – it is embraced by a zoo ( the first zoo in Japan ), many famous Japanese museums and an extensive park. Also, the shopping is great. Ameyoko Marketplace is ideal for local and foreign shoppers. A fun place, that offers the ultimate in recreation and relaxation. . tous commentaires »
Considering we were on a 3 week trip to Japan and that we visited many
hotels and hostels during its span, I have to say that Tokyo Ueno Youth
Hostel had the friendliest and most helpful staff we have come across.
The general attitude of the employees towards the guests surpassed all
of our expectations. Furthermore, it had great facilities such as
efficient wireless internet which had proven to be hard to come by all
over Japan. Overall, I would not give a better review to any other
establishm.
Great location; 10 mins walk to Okachimachi stations and 12mins to JR Ueno station and Ueno park as well as Ameyokocho shopping street where you can find halal stalls (Turkish Kebab, chicken rice and Indian food) for muslims. Akihabara electric town is just 15mins walk or just the next train stop. Friendly, polite and helpful English-speaking staff, free Wifi, and spacious pantry/lounge. Very reasonable rate.
The staff was very nice and wait for us for the late check-in.We arrived
almost quarter to midnight and he welcomed us with warm 'macha'
(hot tea). Room is clean and not too small (eventho not big). Toilet is
small but clean too. Not too far from metro/subway station. Very
near to Family Mart store which is across the street. Walking distance
to Euno town, about 10-15mins walking.
I went with my friend. There are 3 people in our group i got a big room for 4 people.. It's comfortable room. the hotel is clean (in the room, outside and kitchen) wifi is so good. I can use in my room. Staff is so nice. They are willing to give me an information... The hotel is not easy to find but japanese is so kind-hearedt to help us.... I will go back to your hotel.
Very, very convenient to Metro, food, shopping (Akihabara). Felt safe and secure with helpful & english-competent young people on desk the whole time. Rooms were big enough for 4 of us, and had decent bathroom/toilet & facilities. Kitchen/lounge sufficed, but is not very big and has minimal cooking/preparation/cleanup space. Overall good value for money.
Location close to Ameyo market. First time compleate the route from train station to hotel. We decied to stop at Okachimachi station and walk only 10 minutes to hotel. Very conveience i can find many restuarant near by. Hotel staff very friendly and warm greeting, I may comback to stay this hotel again.
We visited Tokyo in mid June 2013. Convenient location - there are several subway stations within walking distance. Easy access to Akihabara. Lots of convenience stores around. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is a common lounge with a fridge and microwave that was very useful.
Nice Hostel in the nice are of Ueno, 8min walking from the station and 15min from Akihabara, the staff is great and helpfull and they speak english very well. (Spanish too :) )
The room is nice and it have wifi.
I will not hesitate to stay there again! Arigato!.
The staff speak good English and they are very friendly and helpful. The Location is super, Akihabara is just a walk away. Ueno park is near and it's easy to get around since many stations are in walking distance. I'll stay there again if I go to Tokyo.
Near to train stations both JR lines and Skyliner, as well as subway train station. Accessible to Stores (restaurant, bars, grocery) and euno park is walking distance only. Staff can speak and understand English and were very accomodating.
The hotel room was simple, you don't come here for luxury. But the family room was spacious very clean and practical. Close to subway, in a calm side street, close to shops and restaurants. Free wifi in room. Towels at small charge.
The cost is very good for a backpacker like us.
The location is well situated and you can reach most of the location easily.
What i like is that the WC are not shared and there are no restriction/curfew.
Staff are helpful as well.
We were traveling with 9 middle school students and had two rooms for 3
and one room for 5. Rooms were small but very clean and acceptable.
Location of hostel was great for sightseeing, train access, subway
access and food access.
Very comfortable rooms in a good location. Good value for money. Perfect
for low-maintenance travellers --no frills, clean, sufficient space, budget-
friendly, nice facilities. Also, the staff were extremely friendly.
Everything was great! Staff friendly and helpful with everything.
Locations was close to jr railways and metro lines. Shopping in
Ameyokocho was close by as well as Akihabara. Very good place for
your money!.
Nice place to stay ! Not very expensive.
10 minutes away from Akihabara and Ueno parc.
A very good ramen restaurant down the street (3 mins - Ippudo Ramen).
Staff is nice and very very helpful !.
Location very good, only about 300 m from subway Yushima station.
Near 24hour store Family mart and Lawson, 200 m.
For hotel staff/manager, there is 4 staff very friendly, 1 staff no good.
Staff polite, helpful and speaking English. Close to ZOO, Akihabara dictrict and the train station is close too. Our room was small with a bathroom, just perfect for us travelers.
Location was great, close to Ochimachi JR station, Ueno park and Akihabara. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. The room was more spacious than our other hotel rooms.
The staff were very polite. The lounge had all necessary equipment. The hostel was well maintained and very clean. It can be easily accessed through Okachimachi station.
The room is clean and convenient for backpackers. The place is accessible to train and buses. The staffs are accommodating and can speak English.
Great staff, english speaking
Budget friendly
Close to multiple subway stations
Near the skyliner station, direct trip to the airport in 40min.
The room (3 pax with bathroom) was clean and spacious for the price. Excellent budget hostel with friendly staff!!!!.
Close to subway. Not too far from JR station. Surrounding with minimarts. Near shopping center. Cheap & clean.
Location is near to subway and jr line station. Internet was free and
fast! Lounge is perfect.
We stayed there 8 nights. Location is perfect and staff is very friendly and helpful.
great location, very close to the subway
very clean
excellent for the price.
Staff were really polite and helpful. Very conveniently located. Loved it.
It's near to the station, has a good lounge, staffs are friendly, helpful.
Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel is a very good hostel with excellent staff.
The staff is very friendly and very helpful too.
Wifi connection fast, near shopping district..
Near to jr station as I'm using the jr pass.
Great location and price. Very nice staff!.
nice staff, cozy room, good facilities.
Location
Private Restroom.
Good price.
I loved my stay at tokyo ueno youth hostel!! The staff were amazingly
kind and spoke English very well. We asked for a triple room and ended
up with a quartet. The room was clean and big enough for 4 friends on a
budget. They happily got out our bags no matter how many times we asked
for them before we checked in. For those on earlier flights, if you have
nothing to do before you check in, hang out in the lounge on the 7th
floor. There's free wifi and it's super fast, with a tv and you
can make.
The location is closer to all major markets and Train stations, temples and shrines which we liked.WiFi in the rooms.
Room was good with bath, cupboard, soaps. Staff was very helpful in advising for sightseeing or otherwise.
location is near to metro station
location is near to convenience store
budget hotel.
The location was great.
The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
Staff who speak english well fortunately.
Convenient location.
location.
Though hard to find, it is located near main strip with lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. They speak reasonably good English. The place is a bit hard to find.
I don't have any comments of which describes what I didn't like.
It's a great hostel and the staff/owners have thought of pretty
much everything.
After careful thought, there is nothing I disliked about this hostel.
Toilet is small but in Japan I think most of the hotel is very small
with small toilet too.
smell from bathroom i think came from the toillet pipe. Towel shall offer free of charge. I must rent 200 Yen next time better but from 100 yen shop but as a traveller i can not carry towel to hotel at all time.
No towels.
Laundry is out door and a bit scary, but there is a big space to hang clothes.
Maybe the futon matrasses on bunk beds where a bit thin.
Nothing.
Directions from train station were not entirely easy to follow. People
on streets were friendly and helped us find our way.
The directions to the hostel shown here are rubbish. There are more than
one 7-11 stores and most of the signs are in Japanese only, so it could
be very confusing. Also, it would be better if it's mentioned that
the hostel is not located on the main road but rather a little hidden.
Nothing. Only wish they had a kitchen to cook.
The elevator always stops at the 4th floor ... lol :p
(Actually, nothing is wrong with the hotel).
Entry lift no good.
The display name of hostel is too small, too simple. Please make it bright and bigger.
I can not complain on this hostel.
No room cleaning service though they do pick up the garbage everyday!.
Laundry facilities...maybe need to be relocated to a better location
if possible.
All fine.
the bathroom was a little cramped.
Cockroach fell from the ceiling onto me.
Nothing.
For visitor with strict diet especially Muslim visitors, there is no
information on Muslim halal restaurant. For your information, there are
few eating kiosk that served Muslim halal food very near to the hostel.
It will increase the hotel/hostel profile to Muslim visitor if this
information is provided.
not very nice smell.
Dust.
The location isn't great but if you don't mind a bit of a walk,
it's absolutely fine.
Probably towels in the room could be provided as travelers we want travel light, lounge is little congested especially dinning area. Filtered drinking water should be made availabe in the lounge.
the lobby is upstair, not clear signage to enter.
You do not cross the reception desk while getting in and out from the hostel, so you coud easily never meet anyone from the staff, it is not that friendly.
It was freezing every day in the kitchen, there was allways somebody turning off the heater, you could not feel good. The corridors were also really cold, almost as cold as outside.
Towels charged, internet charged....
Room expensive.
sound block of the toilet really not good, feel no privacy at all.
Room was tiny and beds were uncomfortable.
the mattress in the 4 Beds room slumped and made the sleep very uncomfortable. The aircon in the room is old and not able to cool the room quick enough. It is not good during summer.
