The Spiga d'Oro was a great farmhouse in the heart of Tuscany. It was conveniently located so that we were able to do some wonderful day trips within a reasonable drive: Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Montepuliciano. The accommodations were great. Our kitchen was well-equipped and they offered a welcome basket of essential provisions; however there was a very nice little grocers in a small town about 1Km away if needed. Antonietta was a wonderful host and we were treated like part of her family. The Villa is in a stunning location with beautiful gardens and view over rolling hills. The apartment that we stayed in was very comfortable - there was a separate kitchen and living room, wifi and a tv. -
A beautiful renovation of a farmhouse built in 1450 ?
Great facilties (pool & hot tub), and beatiful, clean apartment.
But the most amazing thing was meeting Antonietta & Sandro. Great people !!. The breakfasts served by Antonietta were superb, and the most generous breakfast of any place we stayed in Italy. I particularly enjoyed the conversations, even though we each struggled with the other's language. We hope to get back there one day soon, with more of our family and friends.

The staff was incredibly helpful during our stay. The building is brand new and I assume that we were one of the first guests in the apartment. Great old country house, newly restored. Staff incredibly helpful. One of our pillows was too hard and they changed it immediately. Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Lovely Tuscan country views.
