The town House guest house is a lovely little place, within walking distance of the twon centre and of the town swimming pool. The owner, harpa, is really helpful and friendly. The room was really comfortable, bright and clean, in a quite street, so no traffic noise. -

This place must be the best value in Reykjavik. I walked into my room and had a mini-jaw drop as I saw the quality of the furnishings, the comfortable bed, the NEWness of everything, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Breakfast is a tray of goodies - bread, jams, cheese. They also provide cartons of milk and orange juice that you are free to use up.

Everything was great - clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped (wifi in room, kitchen facilities, ipod dock), and the bath was lovely. The staff were friendly & helpful, dealing with some of my tourist queries including phone calls to local tour companies. The location is very central and you can walk to all shopping, bars, restaurants, harbour etc. Most tour companies pick up and drop off outside the hotel.

Flying Viking is a guesthouse with a personal, home-like feel. You get to meet other international travelers in the shared kitchen and dining room, and the staff are outstanding. Good clean and warm guesthouse. Very warm, casual and homely welcome from owners Edda and Runar. Very clean, comfortable and warm room with good fast wifi Internet. Breakfast buffet incredibly good, and they will accommodate you if you need some extra rest in the morning. Honestly, what's not to love about this hotel/apartment/suites? We fall in love with it the minute we walked in and was very sad when we had to leave.

Tastefully furnished; loved the reading alcove and many skylights and
exposed wooden beams of the top suite. Excellent location - just one
street over from the main shopping/dining street which can get noisy
during the weekend. The breakfast was more than enough for 3 people,
with delicious sourdough bread left hanging on your doorknob every
morning. Goose down comforters and Icelandic wool blankets were really
cosy. Good soundproofing muted the construction sounds which began at
around 8 A.M.
