We were a family group: Grandpa, Grandma, Daughter, grandsons ages 11,
12. We needed affordable lodging near shopping and public
transportation. Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (dra) met and exceeded our
requirements. The dra is just 2 blocks from one of the main bus stations
in Reykjavik. From that point, one can travel anywhere in the City.

We booked the smallest and cheapest available room (the double studio). When we arrived, finding our keys and room was very easy.
The room was small but very clean - the bedding smelt very fresh. We also saw a family studio which was bigger and again very clean and pleasant.
I asked to upgrade our room as I wanted a bit more space (the prices are very reasonable and I was happy to pay more). However when the owner and Thora heard it was the last leg of our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a 3 bed

The town House guest house is a lovely little place, within walking distance of the twon centre and of the town swimming pool. The owner, harpa, is really helpful and friendly. The room was really comfortable, bright and clean, in a quite street, so no traffic noise. -

We stayed in the Vatnsstigur 11 building, which is perfectly located just off the main street Laugevegur - close to everything, but not disturbed by nightlife at all. No reception staff, but self check-in and finding the room key was easy. Just 200 yards from the sea front and the Sun Voyager statue.

The location is very good as it is very close to the shops, church, grocery and iceland excursions terminal and main office. Room 504 is really nice with kitchen, balcony, living room and 2 single beds. I was very happy with the kitchen because it's got everything! The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful, and they make you feel right at home. The facilities were great too (fully-equipped kitchen, hot showers with tub, and free laundry facilities). The bathrooms aren't gorgeous, but they are charming and everything works quite well.

The staff are really nice! They briefly explained where to go near the
guesthouse and in the city center when I first arrived. They clean the
house frequently so it's clean and tidy. They are keen to provide
some local tips like music and the local stores. Generally, I think if
you travel alone and don't want to cram into a 16-bed dorm, it's
a good place to stay with abundant space and good host to talk with.

We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

Very central,side street off main shopping street! Beds very comfy had 2 x twin bed rooms,lounge,kitchen,bathroom.
Arrived early about 11am,luckily the owner had cleaned our 2 bed apartment and it was ready.
Went to the bonus supermarket round the corner to get milk/bread etc.
Toaster didn't work,but text the owner and they brought another one str

Apartment is in an excellent location in the heart of Reykjavik. Well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Would definitely stay there again.
