  From the moment that we drove down through the city streets to City Center Hotel, we knew that the location was just right on. We were near the majority of restaurants, museums & galleries and shopping. Everything was in walking distance. The staff was very helpful in all aspects that a visitor to Iceland would expect.   We were a family group: Grandpa, Grandma, Daughter, grandsons ages 11, 12. We needed affordable lodging near shopping and public transportation. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.
