My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the design of the guesthouse. We were warmly welcomed, our room was cozy and practical, and the smell of fresh bread baking was enticing. While there is not much to do in Keflavik, Guesthouse1x6 serves as a handy stop for an early morning flight.

Gudny, the owner/host went above and beyond in making our stay in Iceland more pleasant. The food left in the fridge was absolutely delicious and she even provided us with a snack when we arrived early in the morning. She was full of advice on what to see and how to get there as well as where to go out for dinner. All her advice was appreciated.

The hosts are very accommodating to guests arriving late and leaving early as this guesthouse is near the airport. The owner is a retired carpenter who designed and built the interior of this very modern guesthouse. The breakfast and homemade treats available in the evening were top notch. Hard to believe we only spent $77 for the largest room and bed we had in Iceland, but I suspect we got such a good deal because we stayed during their first month of operation.

We had an early flight and that is why have decided to stay there as it's near the airport. For sure we don't regret as the place is just perfect. Excellent is not even stronge enought to describe the owner, the house and every thing that goes with it. The house has been decorated with really good taste, some thing you usually see only in fashion magazine. The fridge was also full with all you need for a great breakfast. many thanks to the owner for this warm welcome.

This place looks nice from the outside but is even nicer from the inside! Its in Keflavik so you wouldnt normally stay here if you were visiting Reyjavik but I did want to stay longer just because it was so lovely. The kitchen is really well equipped and everything is spotlessly clean and pretty big too. In addition breakfast in the fridge was great and there was a good selection and quite alot of it. Plus the owner was really friendly and recommended a great resturant.

Loved the hosts, and love the property, with its unique artistic
construction. The property has lovingly been converted from an old barn
into a B&B, complete with ironwood railings and other artifacts from
shipyards, etc. This was all done by the owners themselves. The couple
owning the place offered us both evening tea and food, even though that
wasn't in the rental agreement. In fact, they're super willing
to please customers all around! Aside from the charm, the location here
is absolute

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was one of the best we've seen in Iceland (large enough to shower and no draining problems). Arna and Flosi were very helpful with tips and information about Iceland. It would have been best for us to stop here before touring around Iceland, as their advice would have been useful. Also, we would have been more able to enjoy the landscapes there.

Stayed in one of the two floor suites, complete with skylight in the ceiling above the bed. Lovely decor, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, offered to take us to the airport the next day and told us that breakfast was available from 4am! Everything. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Sylvia was great. When she wasn't cleaning, she was doing research on Iceland in order to give suggestions to travellers. I had a room to myself and it was the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Everything sparkled. Close to the airport and to bus stops. It's just a terrific place to stay.

We loved everything about our stay at Guesthouse Gardur. We had a full
day to spend in Iceland on a stopover between Europe and the us. The
staff of the guesthouse picked us up at the airport, arranged for rental

Everything was perfect. Magnus at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. Arriving after midnight was no problem, my bed was excellent, even sharing bathroom was no problem. Delicious breakfast, super clean bed and breakfast. Just changed ownership and new owners are trying really hard to be as kind and accommodating as possible. I needed a hair dryer and they didn't have one but went out and purchased one just for me to use while staying there. Special chocolate milk provided for the children each day and kind owner.

3. Great location for airport (10 mins by car) and blue lagoon (~20mins) - yet it is a destination not a generic airport hotel.
5. Owner clearly thought about little practical touches for a small cabin.
6. Saw the northern lights- dark with very little light pollution.
