The location of the hotel was really ideal - It was just far enough outside of the city that we could walk to the beach in less than five minutes, and walk into the city in 20-30 minutes. Lovely private swimming pool that was kept spotless and never full. Plenty of sunbeds and poolside chairs.   Un cadre magnifique avec notamment une vue exceptionnelle pour prendre le petit déjeuner (l'établissement est situé dans les hauteurs entre Agios Nikolaos et Elounda), rien de mieux pour commencer la journée! Notre chambre était très propre et spacieuse. Nice pool (though surprisingly cold after a long, hot summer) and outdoor breakfast/lunch area. Staff very friendly and helpful - they even upgraded us to a 2 bed apartment overlooking the pool at no extra cost - because it was available! ... ce que les gens disent » We understand that Malia can be pretty frenetic in mid summer, but Mid- September was just great and we loved the sandy beach and the Old Town - espec - Socrates is a lovely hotel. Very friendly owners, Eva and George. Absolutely perfect pool area, with comfortable sunbeds and a wonderful garden. We got clean towels every day and the room was perfectly cleaned. It was about 200 m to the bus stop (32) to Hersonissos and to the beach 200-250 M. The hotel is perfectly situated in the countryside quiet yet central. I would definitely go back. And the transfer service I great. (A family with 16 and 9 year old kids)
