  It was absolutely lovely. The staff was gracious, made us feel welcome. It felt like old world charm. Of course it was expensive but it was definately worth the price. We used all the facilities, especially the fitness center. We also requested a late check-out which they accommodated. - The hotel staff was so helpful and obliging.   After a weekend of alcoholic debauchery in Brno, my girlfriend and me had a last stop at Prague before leaving home. Sure, the climb up - We liked the location of the hotel - just below the Castle. It looks like an old building but nicely renovated. Cosy and romantic, with a lot of wooden and "golden" details. The breakfast room has a beautiful view to the Old town. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed, kettle and tea/coffee in the room...We would be happy to stay at Golden Star again.

  The hotel is out of "old Prague" but only 15 - 20 minutes walk from Charles Bridge; which is why it is pretty good value. The rooms appeared quite new & most renovations of the building are done - except the courtyard. They now have a buffet breakfast which was very good in the downstairs restaurant. We were traveling by - Owner's niece, the receptionist who works on weekends, is EXCELLENT and VERY helpful. She treated all my family's issues with great care and diligence and in a prompt manner. Hotel, even though under construction/renovation on street level for 2 more months, was a great place to stay (close by city and Charles bridge (2 tram stops away)) and had a wonderful restaurant in Rathskeller downstairs.   It is very nice renovated vila in Prag 5 with very nice rooms and apartments, good breakfast and very good informativ and friendly staf that answered all our questions and spoke very good English. Car parking is included in price which is very good. The only thing we didn't like on our tr - Very nice location, on a hill overlooking Prague and a stone's throw from Mozart's villa (Bertramka). The building must have hosted a state guest house from the Communist years. Rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and a grandiose Soviet feel to them. There is a haute cuisine restaurant downstairs, which gets a fair share of clients from outside (mostly locals in the know). The menu is top class and the prices very reasonable. Very fast free internet. Overall great value for money. Highly rec
