Trip to Mutianyu was excellent value for money and despite being stuck in a traffic jam was a fantastic day out.
The hostel is an easy 5 min walk from the Dongsi metro station. Very easy to find. Don't be put off by comments which say it's hard to find.

The location is perfect, just 10 min walk away from Qianmen and Tiananmen Square, you can also find subway and bus quite easily around there.
The cafe bar is really nice, good place to meet friends.
Beds are pretty comfortable, I stayed in a 14 bed dorm, quite a big room, not crowded at all. The A/C works well, hot water 24 hrs, and oh! the bar opens 24 hrs as well, which is a bonus!
The price is quite reasonable in Beijing, esp at central area.

We were immediately upgraded at no extra cost due to no availability of non smoking room. The reception and conciege staff were excellent and very cooperative. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. The location was excellent for shopping and sightseeing. The spa was nice but a little pricey. -

The price was super cheap, the service and amenities were far beyond the price! I was very impressed with the hotel and staff. There were several English speaking employees which was very helpful. The hotel is situated in a very nice are, within walking distance to the Square and Forbidden City. -

Hey Beijing is Beijing. It's a super busy place; it's polluted
(air) beyond belief. In itself, must be seen to believe. Kapok was on
the door step of the forbidden city and tien'amen and very
convenient for the purpose; to visit these. There is a food market on a
part of the Main Street that is, if anything, worth seeing. Good luck if

This hotel is in a great location for tourist very close for Forbidden City and shopping as well. The design is great and the rooms have wood floors, always a plus in China where carpet cleaning is not a top priority.
A consideration for those traveling with a partner or sharing a room on business, the bathrooms are glass walled with a curtain to pull shut when using the space, so consider this when booking this hotel depending on who else may be in the room. The bathroom was nicely designed a

Staff at this accommodation is so helpful and kind. It is hard to find
at first. The taxi we took from the airport (170rmb which was scam) can
not find the place he had to call the hotel and drop us at one of the

Great location. The studio apartment is in a new building, and the
building is a part of a closed structure of approx. 10 buildings such as
this one. It is surrounded by a fence and there is a guard at the
entrance (nice) (It's not like it is unsafe neighborhood). Inside
there is a tennis court, and plenty of grass. Although it is not located
in the city center, it's 10 minutes walk from mtr station
(dongimen), than it takes about 4 stops to the Tiananmen square. The

Our entire family enjoyed our stay at the Peninsula. The room was spacious, clean and thoughtfully designed. I love how the desk area is separated from the rest of the room. It allows me to do some work while the kids are watching a movie. The management really pays attention to the details which made our stay extremely comfortable. -

Family room was fantastic, (5 adults) large and comfy beds with a large lounge area. Staff very attentive (particularly Raoul) in catering to needs and providing helpful suggestions for trips. Close to wangfujing street with lots of shopping and less than 5 mins walk to metro. Decor of hotel very grand with beautiful staircases and impressive entrance! Would definitely recommend this hotel (and whole family would too!)
