  I was a bit worried, after reading some negative reviews here, but the hotel was actually quite good, for Rio standards at least. The standard room I had needed some redecorating for sure, but it was very spacious and had a fantastic city view.   Our stay at the Ipanema Plaza was excellent. When we arrived tired (without luggage, lost by the airline) we were offered a room already at 0600 although we hadn't expected to check-in until 1400.   The staff at Augusto's were phenomenal. Fantastic customer service. The staff are what made this hotel worth the money. In particular Yuri and LIsa.   I loved my stay at Mirador Rio Hotel. The staff is awesome. Very corteous and friendly. Specil kudos to Thiago and staff at front desk. Great location; three blocks from the beach if you ae traveling under a budget. Breakfast is great! You can't miss their Pao de Queijo! (cheese balls!)
