  The very old downtown is fascinating to be in an old and restored hotel and to stay in a so big room as old times: even the bell of the old church of Se (which annoys some people) for me it was a pleasure to hear. The breakfast is very reasonable and good and the staff very friendly. All of this for a very cheap fare. - the manager who spoke very good english was very helpfull in expaining to me some of the things to do and how to bet them like the ferry up the amazon. best area i found in belem

  location close to city centre - The cleaning/cooking staff was GREAT, very helpful, lovely, welcoming (they even taught us to make tapioca). Location is quite good aswell, despite a bit dangerous apparently. We stayed in room n.4, which was good because we could leave the windows open, that looked over the garden (a very nice garden).
