Great experience from start to finish at the Blue Jay Lodge. The wonderful staff made us feel completely welcome from the moment we arrived until the time when we checked out. They are putting a lot of effort into upgrading and modernizing the rooms. Crown molding, new sinks, and new heating and air conditioning units can be found. kaikki arvostelut » This was a hidden gem for us in our travels. We only stayed one night, but the room and facilities were very good and the price per room per night was well in our budget. We had a family room with plenty of beds and the ability for one room to be shut off for privacy. Guest laundry facilities were provided, free wi-fi and parking. Reception staff were friendly and courteous. Location was easy 5min walk to both lakefront and the eating/shopping areas. The lodge was welcoming, the staff was friendly. It is close to casinos and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable, with microwave, coffee machine, fridge. The price was very affordable and included breakfast. There was a swimming pool although it was closed when we were there (they said it is open in the summer only). What I also liked was that they didn't charge my credit card until the day I came. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard to accommodate us with early check in. The room was clean and quite large which was very nice. They are very close to the casinos and easy walking to restaurants. Didn't go down to the lake from there, but estimate it was about a 2-3 block walk. Overall enjoyed my stay and will stay there again. I will say it was our 2nd stay at this motel and for hanging out for the weekend. It's a great place to stay. Walking distance to everything! Beautiful view of the mountain "Heavenly" bed was totally comfortable. Great prices, affordable! Coffee pot and refrigerator in room which is clean and cold! Shower was clean and lots of hot water!. Incredible value, especially given its location- was able to get to Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw within an hour of the hotel. Facilities are sufficient, nothing fancy but still very comfortable and fairly modernized. Paid $80 to stay there for three nights, no how they were able to offer it for so cheap but hey, I'm not complaining!. I like the spacious room with the spa and the couch was great for watching tv. I also liked the fact it had a fireplace. We arrived ahead of schedule and they let us check in an hour before check in time. The breakfast was ok nothing special, but the location was great. The room was well apportioned, we had 3 queen-sized beds in one room. The toilet facilities were off to the side so there was no inconvenience with folks using the facility. The decor had nice pictures on the walls and duvets on the beds. We enjoyed our stay. Our room, it was lovely very big with Spa Bath in our bedroom and seperate bathroom. For what we paid this must have been an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. There was coffee making in room which was great. Breakfast was more than adequate. A great stay. The owners are fabulous! Always so welcoming and accommodating to us. LOVE the fact that every room has a coffee maker, frig, and microwave. WALKING distance to Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Ski Resort, Casinos, Restaurants...location! location! location!. The couple that ran the lodge were great! I wanted to check in early and they didn't charge me the "early in" rate. It was 25 degrees outside so I would've paid anything! LOL! They were very helpful and extremely nice. It was very refreshing. Fair value for the money. It was close to the highway, the ski resorts and restaurants. The water was hot, the heater worked (though it didn't reach the bathroom) and the bedcovers were surprisingly warm! Friendly staff, clean room. Within walking distance from restaurants, shopping and the beach but off of the busy main road. Being able to walk and not fight the traffic or find a parking spot was great. Price was reasonable. Bed was comfortable. Loved the spa, king bed, heater and wifi. Cleanliness was great. I liked that the toilet had this strip of paper over the lid that said the toilet sterilized. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time with extremely nice and helpful owners and staff. We have paid 2 and 3 times as much had didn't have nearly as nice a room. Just a short walk to Harvey's and Harrah's casino's. Very good price for what they offer. Good breakfast, bed, room, excelent shower and hot water, refrigerator, microwave, fridge, everything working perfectly. Just 1 block from Heavenly gondola. The management was very accommodating, they bent over backwards to meet our needs and requests. Awesome, comfortable, relaxed environment. They are working very hard to improve the property. That it hade a mini fridge,micro and a coffee maker. The bathroom was ok not to big not to small. Bed hade enogh pillows (3) and it has a little clothet kind of space with a security box. No need to drive. And on the 4th of July the parking lot got full from tourists, but the guy at the front desk moved his car so I could park. My ratings, especially "value for money," reflect that. great value for the money - off season, was a bit concerned as it was so cheap, but in price only, everything worked, was clean, and peaceful and decent breakfast. The man in charge of the reception after lunch is extremely polite he was always ready to help us. They didn't seem to think the complimentary breakfast out gery well, my son went to the office to get more coffee and told us it was cereal and donuts, not a very big selection, would have been nice to have bagels or muffins, and when I went down at 9 am to get something the office was closed and everything was gone. They could also use some vending machines for snacks. Needs plastic liner in Shower with curtain that fits. A little to long and really needs to be fixed. Breakfast- glad that they offered it, but does every single thing offered have to be loaded with sugar? (Frosted Flakes, Smacks, Cap'n Crunch, Sunny d, Donuts... You get the idea). A start to the day like this is murder for sports enthusiasts. We were put on a side where there was beer cans and packs of cigarettes. It honestly looked like an abandoned motel... The people up stairs were very loud in the middle of the night and at 6:00 in the morning were banging on the walls, they were very inconsiderate. There was nothing I did not like except there were no toilet facilities in the reception area. For folks who have traveled for 4-5 hours having them would be helpful. Corridor from the back of the hotel to reception where breakfast was served could have been cleaner. This wasnt a problem for us and I had to think hard to find anything here. The fact that we have to leave the Blue Jay Lodge and return home. It was really small and old, and the bathroom was freezing. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. The electricity went off around 10 pm and didn't come back on until the middle of the night. The plugs were very hard to reach and the TV didn't work. It's too bad the fireplace was not available to use but hopefully the fireplace can return!. The tv didnt work the internet was week i hade to step out side to have some and the carpet i think they cleane it with a steamer thing so they were wet. Nothing. Budget furnishings and fittings, but a budget price in off-season. No guest laundry. Wish they had more of a free breakfast than doughnuts and cereal. Pool had no water in it. Only one car per room was allowed in parking so we had to park down the street at the casino and walk. small standard rooms. Beds VERY uncomfortable, Some rooms did not have functioning A/C or even an A/C unit at all! (i'd suggest checking this first, the place is great but summer without A/C is kinda rough). I believe the towels were clean and sanitary but they had stains on them. Kinda gross. Ice machine was broken. Also the shower curtain had mildew all over the bottom. The milk at breakfast was diluted. paperthin walls - i am grateful to have had quiet neighbours, but you can hear almost everything between rooms. pool under repairs. No WiFi, it was not working when I tried it, and when I asked other people if they had it they said no as well. But then I was focusing in on skiing anyway. I didn't like that as soon as I got my room I went to the bathroom and the toilet almost overflowed. Also, no water in pool, and no working Ice Machine. Also, no working phone in room. Fridge made loud noises. Eventually we had to plug it out in order to get some sleep. Don't count on the breakfast. WiFi didn't work too well for me - constantly dropped signal. Too bad that on that night the internet was not working in that area all the way till next morning, so we did not get to use internet at all. - There's just one meal a day. Though i'm not sure whether for the give price range, that's the norm in the Tahoe area. Construction during the day for the remodeling was loud but stopped promptly at 5pm for a quiet evening. There was no light on the bedstand but then I guess I could have gone to front desk and asked for one. A clock would have been a welcome addition. And ash trays outside the no smoking rooms would also be a good idea. Reception didn't know anything about hiking paths or information on Lake Tahoe, bathroom light and room light not sufficient. Was a little disappointed with the room on the Blue Jay Lodge's website it makes it seem that all rooms have a spa tub in them and all my room had was a shower. The room looked clean but under the bed there was a cup. And on top of the tv stand was a bag. Rooms are not sound proof.. Noise from next room, walls very thin. Extended television channel choice. The lady in charge of the reception in the morning was extremely rude. I was just trying to ask her about some tips of the city and she told me that I should go better prepared. The check in was just after 15:00. Just after I insist she gave me some information about the city. She should find another job to do. Breakfast is poor.
