The rooms are completely different than the outside appearance. Also, the new owner of the Presidio is awesome...totally nice guy. My finance and I arrived after a long day of driving and stopping around town and finally checked in where the owner was there to talk a bit and offer some suggestions around town, and offered us to use some of the free bikes that he has on a rack to ride around town. He's very aware that the outside of the place needs some work, but he's completely fixed the inside.
kaikki arvostelut » We just stayed for 1 night (with late check-in) at the hotel and it was a good experience. Front desk guy was very nice and helpful. Hotel provides a nice recommendations for places to go for site seeing and to eat. You can take free bikes at hotel, that is really great if you like to explore places on a bike. Location was good as is within working distance from downtown. Clean and rather spacious room (due to high ceiling), good furniture. If we will come to Santa Barbara again we would not mi. We had a great stay here - the motel was everything we wanted with the added bonus of free bikes to get around. Highly recommend The Presidio to anyone on a budget - you'll enjoy the sun deck, comfy beds, brilliant location and helpful staff. Was one of our favourite hotels we stayed at during our Californian Road trip - the second we walked into our room, we knew we'd made the right call to book. The room was big and comfortable - probably because we were at the second floor, the ceiling was very high. Internet connection was very fast. The terrace was excellent for a good apero. Furthermore, the possibility to rent bikes for free was a great thing. Free parking also is a good one. The staff were very friendly and the room was super clean! It was the best nights sleep I had in California and each day the maids cleaned the rooms spotlessly. My favourite part was taking one of the free bicycles out and riding along Main St to the beach. Highly recommend!. We were within walking distance of the Shopping center. The room had a homely Ikea feel, that made us feel welcomed. Restroom was clean and simple. Love the free bike rental. The front desk guys were very inviting. The price was right for the location. The hotel was very nice and quaint. I loved the deck they had that I could enjoy my coffee on. Ggd cab ride in to town was short. Overall a beautiful place to stay. I am definitely staying here when j come back to SB. Comfortable king-size bed. Close to good food. Free bike rentals (didn't use, but love that we had the option). Was very hot when we stayed, so freezing-cold a/c was amazing. Easy check-in/out. Friendly staff. The staff was incredible. They went out of their way to make sure I had a great weekend and were very helpful when ever I needed assistance. Rooms were exceptionally clean. I will stay here again!. The rooms were lovely and to make up for the lack of pool there is a really nice decking area which caught the sun till late! The beach isn't far and the shops are close too. Would highly recommend!. Very good location for seeing Santa Barbara. Quite nice if you like the old-style motel type experience. Santa Barbara was the best city we visited in the USA. Forget Vegas and LA -- stay here!. The place was just re-done, clean and comfortable. Only a few blocks fr.om downtown, an easy walk. Tje yug people who work the office are friendly and helpflull. I will stay there again. - Great location (5mins walk from city center) - clean and nice rooms - Great customer service (one can lend bikes for free, coffee in the morning, friendly and helpful staff etc) -. The staff was great and attentive; the room was very clean and the location was very close to downtown Santa Barbara. I would stay again, but would bring my own towels. The staff were helpful and friendly, and knew Santa Barbara well. The room was newly furnished, very comfortable bed, roomy bathroom, iPod dock, good-sized fridge. Rooms has been recently repaired and now very confort and good inside Very good location right in the State street, everything is very close to the motel. Room was a nice size and the beds were actually very comfortable! It was also nice having a flat screen and the staff were nice. It was a motel but the rooms were very nice/stylish and clean. The bed was comfy and there was an ipod dock and hairdryer. I like the proximity to all the shopping, restaurants and beaches from The Presidio. I always have an excellent stay here. Just one thing: the first night we could not find the remote control of the tv, but one of the super friendly guy workng at the hotel (who gave us also some good tips for restaurants) brought it in our room the day after. The take-away breakfast at the front desk isn't great but it's better than nothing!. Overall, the parking was the only issue on one day. Due to thin walls/non-sealing windows, you can hear everything that goes on outside, next door, upstairs. The noise didn't keep me awake or anything. A/C blocked it out pretty good. Seems kind of over-priced, but really not bad for Santa Barbara. Rooms a bit small. You still need to walk a long way to Santa Barbara downtown. Would be good if you could use the bikes in the evening. The windows were the old roll out kind and they do not close tight or keep out the noise very well (I am a light sleeper).The towels were very small and the sheets a bit short for the bed (so they kept coming undone). Nothing. Everything was great. The soda machine didn't work but the girl behind the desk brought us sodas to our room. So really no complaints at all. it was a bit loud because our room was by the stairs. Nothing. No breakfast and noisy. Loud, not soundproof. The noise from people passing by outside the windows...luevered windows are outdated and don't work well for security or noise reduction. No heat in the bathroom. Towels were as thin as the ones at the YMCA. The rooms are quite noisy -- some of this is due to the rooms themselves, some of it is from the hotel being right on State St. Wished for an in-room fridge, but otherwise very good. Smelled a bit like bleach but at least you knew it was clean. The room was pretty basic and air conditioner didn't work. Price can always be better and the outside just looks like a regular motel. We had to leave early, no one in the office to give key back too, no coffee. its located in the main street, but its a bit far from the beach. Very little extra. Room is very plain. No real drawers or closets. no breakfast just a little refreshment. The wooden porch outside is noisey. No breakfast, just juices, tea/coffee and cakes. Quite far from city center and main entertainments but bicycles availability helps to get to them.
