We enjoyed the water park as an end to a long day at Soak City. The big slide rivals the slides at the park. We stayed in the new part of the hotel wich is very important. It was in good shape and quiet. We adults loved the outside, large hot tub for adults only...but it was not working. The family hot tub was deserted in the morning but packed with kids at night. Be sure to ask for late checkout (noon) to enable time for breakfast and a last spin in the water park. I heard the lone for breakfa.

Even my 10 and 12 year olds commented on how nice the lifeguards were. Room was comfortable and clean. Saw some negative reviews on the breakfast buffet, however, I thought breakfast was great. Was included with room, so my thoughts are if it isn't good enough for you, go out and pay for breakfast. It had everything I needed and t. We love Maui Sands!!!! We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Cedar Point!!!! It's close to all the attractions!!! Rooms are spacious, updated, and very clean!!! Service and staff were wonderful! The water park was beautiful and included in your stay! The room even included a hot breakfast each morning!!! The icing on the cake was the amazing price!!! Our room was $200 less per night than our friends cedar point hotel room and included the waterpark and breakfast!!! We will be back for . Prior to selecting Maui sands I read multiple good reviews. Reaching the hotel, the outside appearance seemed a bit rough but extremely pleasing on the inside. The room was well in my price range with a good size and comfy. I adored the decor and feel as if my biggest concerns are slow drains in the tub and wishing all of the soap dispencers were full and properly labeled, although other complementary emmenities were provided then I had a very pleasant visit. Hoping to next time take advantage . We liked the indoor water park. It rained a lot during our visit so we didn't go to Cedar Point as much as we normally would so the water park was a great alternative. We loved the warm breakfast buffet. We really chose the Maui Sands because our children could have their own area in our hotel room and they loved having their own television. The layout of the room was great. The room was very clean and very comfortable. We will go back to the Maui Sands again. We were in town for a convention so needed a last minute hotel room. I got a great price on the room only - without the water park pass. The family room was beautiful, new, and comfortable. I had 4 teenage girls with me who shared the bunk bed room. They loved it, but it got hot at night. The breakfast was included with the room and was very nice - hot food, cereals, bagels, fruit. Cool electronic keys that you wear on your wrist. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite. When we weren't able to check in because it wasn't 4 pm, a staff member upgraded us with no charge to a Jacuzzi suite and we were able to check in right away! The breakfast was amazing and consistent, the water park was cool and suitable for all ages, and the hotel room was clean, well equip and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at Maui Sands. The staff was very nice and went out of their way to make sure our visit was pleasurable. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and the kids loved the O'hana suite and water park. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and plan to rebook again for our 2014 visit to Cedar Point. The whole place was nice. Our room was clean, the price thru letsbookhotel.com was great. The water park was just the right size for our 3 yr old grandson and our young adult children. The breakfast was hot and the food was good. I recommend staying here and booking your room thru letsbookhotel.com, it was a great value. The indoor waterpark was wonderful for kids of all ages and adults. The rooms were clean and comfortable for our stay. I enjoyed the continental breakfast and found the staff to be very helpful. I have already recommended it to other family. There is plenty of shopping in the area for items you may need on vacation. Excellent pricing for what we paid for. This was a large family outing and perfect for our gathering of mixed aged kids, seniors, aunts and uncles. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was decent and all we needed to start our day. More than 2 days there, we would probably eat elsewhere for a change of menu. We only stayed one night. Arrived late at night to check in and left in morning at check out. The hotel was nice and clean. The beds and pillows were good. The staff were friendly. Didn't get the chance to use water park but it looked pretty good. It was smaller than ones we have been to but it was stilla good one. Room was a suite with separate beds (bunk) and bathroom for kids for the price of a single room. We had some hassles checking in, but the staff more than made up for it by offering us free water-park passes and a free pizza. The water park is pretty good for a small hotel. We enjoyed it greatly. Waterpark location is great, kids can play while adults hang out in the lounge at night. Staff was excellent, they addressed a room issue we had the first night and were very accomodating all around, would definitely return for that reason. Breakfast and WiFi are included. The experience that we had was a very good one!!!The staff was very friendly and acccomidating,will recommend this resort to friends and family. The hot continental breakfast was so much more than expected.Water park was fun and refreshing!!!!!!We will be back again. I liked that my bedroom was separated from the children and the water park was fully staffed with life guards - it made me feel more at ease when my children 7, 9 and 13 were playing. Another great added bonus was the hot breakfast served in the morning. The rooms we had booked were on different ends if the hotel, so they moved us to 2 adjoining rooms and even upgraded one of the to a suite for no charge! (Although it was not a particularly busy day) very helpful and the kids loved it!!!. The room was really great with the separate kids bunk area. We were pleasantly surprised to receive the free breakfast during our stay. Also, maintenance was really quick when we mentioned a problem with our door lock. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Any request I made was greeted with "Sure no problem". Casey, Jordyn, Melissa and Doc stood out and are a real asset. the water park was great. Loved the hotel my kids and grandkids had a blast. The water park was just the enough for my grandkids and the breakfast in the morning hit the spot. Everything affordable and family friendly. The location was good; and the family room is a nice concept...it allowed me to avoid paying for two separate rooms... substantial savings. The décor was really great. Friendly stuff . Too many stairs to get to the adult hot tub, but with it being hidden you can escape kids. It took forever to get a confirmation on my reservation. I had to call several times. The only thing I would say was that they would not let anyone check in until 4:00. Then there was a huge line to check in. I wasn't about to wait in the line, so I went back into waterpark. By 5:00 line died down. So I checked in then. Nothing. We liked everything and had a wonderful experience at the Maui Sands. We had stayed there last year and we liked it so much we went back this year and stayed longer. The airconditioner is in the bedroom with the king bed and doesn't seem to reach the other end of the room without freezing whoever sleeps closest to it. Also, if you don't have the waterpark pass, there is no access to a pool or hot tub, like other hotels close by. We found the arcade as we were leaving. There was no literature or explanations of any amenities other than the water park. Only down side we had was having to get our own toilet paper, but other than that everything was great!. I only stayed two days. I really cannot identify something I did not like about this place. With privacy door closed, it became very warm in the bunk area. Having teens in there watching tv, we pulled the doors partially shut for quietness. But a bit stuffy for them. The staff is not well-trained in the operation of the hotel owing to the fact that everyone is new since the hotel just reopened after falling into bankruptcy. This led to some check-in hassles. Our room had steaming hot water in the toilet, the hotel was aware and working to resolve but it was awkward to use the facilities in the room. The only thing I did not like that after booking the first night,I was unable to get the same great deal for a second night. I didn't like that my room key didn't work the second day and I had to go to the lobby twice to have it fixed. Nothing, wished we could have stayed longer, but they were booked. My original room was not very nice but they moved me with no problem. The hallway of the #2 building had an old stale smell and the Arcade and Fitness Center need renovation. I wish they had an outdoor pool or a larger sunning deck off the outdoor hot tub. No issues. Noise from adjoining guests. Dancers were in town for competitions. Noise was loud usually starting from 10pm until after 1am. We were offered to move to another room - but decided not to. We also did not receive maid service every day of our stay. Improve the entrance to the drive way of the hotel. We had to enter via the driveway of a Gas station or the hotel next door. can't think of anything I disliked about our stay. Room felt slightly humid due to indoor water park, wi-fi Internet was slow, and front desk was a bit understaffed during my stay. The bed was a little hard for me. Upon check out we found out there was an 18 and over hot tub. Would have liked to take advantage of that, but no one told us until we left when we were asked if we got to utilize it. I did not like the restaurant closing early that was in the hotel with no other options available to eat with out going out side the hotel. Shower curtain was a little dirty, as well as carpet in the corners. We were on the 2nd floor near the open foyer area. There was a loud group in the bar until after 12:30am. When I called to ask about it at 11:55pm I was told the bar closed at midnight and it should quiet down - it did not - someone should have handled the loud patrons in the bar. I turned up the air conditioner so that it would drown them out. The staff did apologize when I mentioned it upon checking out. Vending machine did not work. On our first day we came in there was old coffee in the coffee pot we had to clean. There was a day we came back from our actvities and the beds weren't made...vacuum wasn't run. There were a couple games at the arcade that kept eating tokens. The staff was kind to give us extra tokens. Nothing. We had no dislikes of our stay. the breakfast buffet was somewhat substandard. Our carpet was very dirty. Feet would get black if you walked barefoot. Otherwise, room was clean. Bunk beds were a little cramped for our older children. First day breakfast was warm and crowded. Some items took a while to replenish. The other days it was fine. It was difficult to get from our building to the main building. No elevator on our side of the building. Had to use stairs then exit the building and go around to the front entrance. Air conditioner unit in room.....constantly on and off again, throughout night, as it is an individual unit housed next to the bed. Also, we were only given 4 towels, each day, having to request an additional 2 for the 6 people our room held. The family room was a bit crowded. The room is designed for six people but not big enough to move around. The towels in the pool area could have smelled better. VERY busy at breakfast. Plenty of seats, but more people than seats. So, maybe extend the hours so not so many people have to cram into that time frame. size of water park ac in main room but, once the main bedroom sliding doors are shut it gets very hot in the little bedroom and bathroom. Food from Hotel. Restaurant during breakfast not well maintained or clean. Overall food issues were the only problem. Order out !!. We did not like our room because it was a room for a person with special needs. We did not ask for that room! We would like a room with a view!.
