  the cottage was so cute. the spa was lovely and the bath just a treat. everything needed was there including extra little touches like coffee and filters and fire starters and wood.   We loved the proximity to both Hilo & Volcano. It was a great spot to begin our daily adventures from. The quiet surrounds were beautiful & private. The hot tub was an added bonus we finally managed to enjoy on our last night. The facilities were of a much higher standard than expected. The inside was beautifully designed and thoughtfully outfitted. A great place to come 'home' to after a long day of sightseeing or hiking or whatever.

  The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town. It would be helpful if this were advertised on letsbookhotel.com. Luckily the hotel had a better room available than the one star unit we first saw.

She found one available, offered it for $40 more, and we spent an amazing night in a gorgeous suite, 20 feet from the crashing waves! It was the highlight of our time in Hawaii.
