  It's was daughters 7th birthday. The staff went above and beyond. Recognized her at breakfast the following day and took it upon themselves to sing her happy birthday even remembering her name. Upon check out they had a hand written card with a small gift (winter hat) thanking her for spending her birthday at The Whiteface Lodge . The game room, movie theater, bowling, pools and the lakeside water sports added value at every turn. Breakfast was a delight and the staff superb. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, and we did not feel out of place with our 4 boys aged 11-20. It was expensive, but then everything in New York is expensive! When you have answered the same standard questions if everything is great a hundreds times from every staff in just a four day short visit, it becomes less funny. Absolutely top class steakhouse on site which was pricey but definely worth the buck (as good if not better than any nyc. Steakhouse I've eaten in. Proximity to the highway a plus. Hotel is perfectly located right on the lake and a close walk to everything in town.
