Breakfast was great... Room was clean and comfortable. The rooms were small but to be expected for a Bed and Breakfast. We took a cab from Amtrak and was only $10. At the end of the trip my wife stated that we must come back and stay at the same place again..

  The Gastonian is simply the most lovely place we've ever stayed. Our room on the 2nd floor was gorgeous, peaceful, spacious, light, with lovely furniture and plenty of storage. The ensuite bathroom was delightful and particularly spacious too. The staff just could not do enough to be helpful, friendly and informative. They were also wonderful ch... mitä ihmiset sanovat » aracters. The Gastonian provided magnificent breakfasts, afternoon hors d'ouevres and evening desserts and wines. These times were truly delightful - ALL of the staff were very warm and cordial, going out of their way to make our stay the best. The food was very good during our four night stay: Chef Ron, Chef James, Walter and "Super" Mario and the rest made our stay fun. Breakfasts with other guests was fun, learning where everyone was from. Those afternoon hor'dourves and wine was a great way to unwind from the day, chatting and enjoying everyone's company. If that wasn't enough, beginning at 8pm-10pm, we had delicious homemade dessert

  The staff was so friendly. The concierge that was on duty on 12/15 REALLY impressed me. A young homeless gentleman came in as we were checking out. The concierge treated him with the same respect as he did every other person that walked in. That really left an impression on me!! We enjoyed our stay there immensely. River st, city market, squares, restaurants, mansions were only steps away. The staff were friendly & helpful with anything you needed or wanted always very pleasant.
