Upon arrival (having booked two rooms, one for friends travelling with us) we were advised that there was only one booking, the other had been cancelled and there were no rooms available! Staff kindly gave us both a complimentary upgrade to their sister hotel on top of mountain, Denali Grande, which was fantastic! Somehow our names got switched around too, our friends First name attached to our surname, bit of a shambles at reception and it took over an hour before we were settled in our room, .
kaikki arvostelut » The staff at the front desk were great about giving recommendations on what to do while in Denali Park. There was this one staff member who was most helpful and courteous. She had these amazing eyes where her irises were extremely large. (Sounds weird but looked amazing.). Secluded, outstanding views, removed from the tacky looking Mckinley Park area but easy to get to, great food, drink, and staff at Mountain View Grill. Liked taking shuttle up to Grand Denali to eat up there once. We actually stayed at the Grande due to an upgrade by the staff because of water problems at the Bluffs. So all my comments above refer to the Denali Grande. The hotel was great. Loved our stay. everyone was wonderful and very helpful, never met anyone that had a bad attitude, went out of their way to be helpful and kind. The Grande Denali was a very enjoyable place to stay the food was good and was close to everything we wanted to see. Positiion, overlooking Denali national park, nice selection of food at buffet breakfast, friendly wait staff,. Price was reasonable for the location. Good shuttle bus from site to downtown and the park. Location to Denali National Park and the friendly staff, great shuttle service. Like the staff, very helpful, close to stores, restaurants. Beautiful area. ,Loved the mountain views and quick access to Denali national Park. Upgraded to Denali Grand Lodge...fantastic!. Great location! Easy to walk to town. Friendly staff and excellent view. convenient location. A smaller hotel which ia low density and rooms spread over a wide area. Its situated away from the main drag. The staff was great, informative, very kind and helpful. the view location shuttle buses to different locations. Great shuttle, nice lobby, friendly people(staff). Very friendly helpful people. Shuttle bus was convenient. Staff was Great. Location. Location was ok. not much. nothing. Food at Sourdough Cafe was very expensive and VERY mediocre. Another annoyance was that the hotel served Starbucks coffee at a coffee cart but they refused to give refills without having to pay 4 bucks. Come on folks! What would Starbucks have to day about that?!. Parking was a bit of a challenge if you couldn't get up by the main level. The reservations for the Bluffs were lost somehow and they transferred us to the Grande Denali. no fridge, no microwave, which we wanted, but a TV with 600 channels which we never looked at. Most of the building exteriors needed new paint. Not real easy to get around if you have a disability. Granted it's the mountains but hotel descriptions are not clear on how much of the property is not not easily accessed. Would like to have breakfast included in the room price and hav e some choices( the soup available in the evening is a nice touch). Would like them to have signs in the room stating if you want to reuse your towel or not hvae the bed changed you have that option. Would save a lot of water. No mini bar/fridge. The hotel is very spread out and we had a long walk with our suitcases..the walk included two outside flights of steps then up one flight to our room which had a nice view (which id asked for) The room was over the road so some road noise. Better suited to staying several nights. The bathroom floors were very dirty--lots of hair and debris. no complimentary breakfast,. need to upgrade mattress! Lights for reading were terrible. The bathroom floors had dirt and pubic hair from God knows when. Great view of the mountains if you were in the right unit. Unfortunately our unit only had a view of the roof of the block of units in front of ours. Most disappointing, especially since we had made this reservation about 6 months previously. Our satalitte didn't not work but for 2hours after our arrival. Bathroom space limited. Food was the worst we have had in all our travels in 25 years I the U.S. for the price it was a major disappointment. I found a hair in the tub. My towel smelled like a grease rag. I was overcharged by $50 for a one night stay. It has almost been one month since and the issue is still unresolved. I have been in email contact with staff assuring me that the oversight would be remediated but it has been about two weeks since the last email contact. Now I am not getting any response from my emails. 1. Lock on window did not work-security was provided by broom handle in window runner. 2. heater did not work 3. beds were hard as rocks 4. very little lighting in room and bathroom. 5. appeared dingy and unkept 6. Very little guest parking-had to park downhill away from room. room very small, right above main road, very noisy, sink in sleeping area. Bathtub scratched, low water pressure. Staff not very friendly except for one person at the main desk. Cheap small towels, overpriced. carpet was filthy,bathroom dirty.bed was like plywood and no parking!!!!.
