  The Black Horse Inn is a cross between a B&B and a motel. It's a relatively new building, so everything works properly, as one would expect in a well-run motel, but the rooms and setting are more comfortable, more like a B&B. From the moment we arrived , Fran, the Inn keeper/owner was most gracious, escorting us to our rooms to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, to a wonderful more than continental breakfast daily We felt more like we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast rather than just a hotel.   We loved our little cabin in the woods. So clean. And the location was great for driving to many of the special little towns in coastal Maine. And the service was great - our ceiling fan quit working. As soon as we called to report it, staff was sent to repair it. The cabin gives you a lot more space than a hotel room and it almost feels like home. We tracel with a little dog and it is perfect if you have pets.
