  As a mom traveling with 2 children, we REALLY enjoyed our stay at The Baron Hotel. Dwight, the front desk wizard, was friendly, helpful, and so great with the kids. The location is in a very safe area which is easily accessible from public transit. It is an older hotel, but this added to its charm rather than detract from it. The staff at the restaurant/bar were so nice , gave us ice in our cooler every time we needed with no problem at all. Loved the 4 days we spent there. Would stay again in a heartbeat!   Great place to stay if you know what you are going for. It does not have a front desk. It's all through a password you'll get in the e-mail. It's actually a house in those english styles neighborhoods. Everything inside was clean and nice. The room had a private bathroom which is great. The internet was also very fast. The metro is nearby and there are plenty of good restaurants around. The - As long as you understand that this is a "guest house," not a hotel, not a b & b, and you understand that it is converted old home, you should have a wonderful time. Don't expect the staffing of a hotel. I chose it for the convenience to the Medstar Hospital complex and it was very easy to travel there. I loved the availability of shared kitchen and living spaces. The owner was very friendly, helpful and concerned that my stay was a success.
