  Great central location, close to San Diego's bus and trolley lines, shopping in vintage shops, lots of restaurants in gay-friendly Hillcrest area. Nice continental breakfast included and staff ensured that foods were replenished and dining area cleaned constantly. Hotel caters to tourist couples, singles, and families. Room clean and bed c - The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our suite was very clean with a balcony overlooking the pool and on the right spot for a late afternoon sunshine. It lacked a corkscrew, I asked for it and is was brought to the room within 5 minutes. And the best: the location! Vibrant Hillcrest accross the street, a new Vons 5 min walking and close to all major roads.

  The hotel, while an older building, had been recently renovated and what a pleasant surprise with all the character & artistic flair in the room (and even the hallway!) The "wow" factor was definitely there when we opened the door to the King suite. The room was a lovely size, the bathroom huge, with great tilework and an awesome shower. The sofa bed actually had 2 separate beds, so we could have had m - I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. I get the feeling people love their jobs and want to deliver good service to the guests. The bar downstairs is awesome and deserves its own review. On

  It is only six blocks to the bay and all the tourist activities there, six blocks to Little Italy, two blocks to beautiful Balboa Park, and a couple of miles from San Diego Airport.   Great service from the front desk. Carlos was accomodating with keeping us away from the elevator. They even let us check in early. Quiet hotel - We really appreciated this during a heavy holiday weekend. The staff gave us tips on what to do during the holiday weekend. Rooms are clean. Carlos at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in giving us information on how to get around since we did not rent a car.
