I don't know why there are so many negative reviews of this place. We thought it was a great place. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The shower had lots of pressure. The hotel is literally surrounded by the campus of UVA. The breakfast was adequate with bagels, cereal, juice and coffee...more than what I was expecting. For the price, you really can't beat this place. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. We were in Charlottesville to attend UVA indoc. We got there early and check in isn't until 2PM, but the staff let us into the room early to change and freshen up. The hotel is in easy walking distance to UVA admissions.

The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good-nothing fancy but the coffee was hot and the space clean. Will definitely stay here again!. The price is right and while it is spartan, it is largely clean and utilitarian. The staff is nice enough (not much chat when you arrive but friendly) and the cleaning staff is thorough and, if you run into them, very friendly. great location for college activities. Room was available at stated time, it was very clean and everything worked in it. Plenty of hot water , very quiet at night,and wi-fi was available instantly. It was so close to UVa,which we were there for college visit.Manager/owner was so friendly and helpfull.Price was so great if you compeared with cleanies and location. Very clean, obviously recently updated. Extra money was spent for better quality toilet paper and nicer than usual towels for a hotel. Excellent location near UVA, the John Paul Jones arena, the Arts Grounds, and the Corner. Great free parking. Friendly staff. The location adjacent to the University of Virginia campus was excellent. Location. Nothing. There wasn't anything I would complain about. If you want a comfortable, clean budget hotel in Charlottesville, I highly recommend this one. Nothing significant to note. For the money, if you are visiting UVA this hotel is well sited and good value. Located just beneath the train! Didn't bother us for sleeping but be aware. Our room was near the stairs, would ask for a different one next time because of foot traffic noise. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room, and the breakfast offerings are extremely unhealthy, but for the price and location, there's nothing even close. Breakfast was a little weak. I'm a non-smoker who got a smoking room due to what was available. The smell when I first walked in was terrible, but the rest of the room wasn't bad. The continental breakfast was all carbs. Some fruit or yogurt would have been nice. Nothing. Beds were a little old and soft. I should have requested a room for a disabled person. The tub had no bars to hold. The tub floor was slippery. Fear of falling! There was no coffee in the room. Breakfast was on the regular side, with almost no healthy options. Carpet needed vacuuming. No kleenex. Breakfast was extremely minimal-no fruit, and so tiny it was hard to sit down. The Inn should not boast about its breakfast!. Amtrack rails are very close, so any train could be heard. No tea pot. Breakfast consisted of corn flakes, milk, bagels, muffins, cream cheese, and tea/ coffee. Next to rail road tracks. Bug in room! Old furniture, holey curtains and bedclothes. Very noisy in night, freight trains pass every hour, room is vibrating! You can hear if anybody in next room heaving a shower!. It is very, very close to the train tracks which woke us up 3 times as trains passed. The walls were thin allowing us to hear a barking dog for an hour in the am. The bathroom door was barely on it's hinges. The shampoo bottle looked like it was reused/refilled. The mattress was hard and the pillows well used and thin. bathroom in disrepair, very overpriced, strong smoke/ashtray odor. Horribly decorated. Check in made it feel very seedy. Room smelled like urine Beds / mattresses poor Fuse blew and power went out for period of time. Heat did not work, had to go get blankets and sweatshirts from car to sleep in. Still waiting to hear from hotel about crediting my acct. Desk person did not know who the mgr was- really?!?.
