We stayed in the riverside Merchant Exchange apartment and the location was brilliant, just a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants & tourist attractions. The views across the city and river were lovely and the apartment was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We appreciated that parking, Wi-Fi and Sky HD were all included in the price. A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! The Guy Fawkes Inn is such a great place, the location is spot-on for a stay in York, the place is steeped in history and the rustic charm of the inn is amazing, you feel like you've travelled back in time once you step through the door, but in a good way :)
The staff are amazing, very professional and very friendly, you feel at home straight away.
The rooms are great, very clean and comfortable with great facilities.
The food is outstanding! Presentation is awesome and it tastes amazing.

the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself.
