Lovely warm welcome, which continued throughout our stay of two nights. The room was spotless and had everything we needed for our short stay. The breakfasts were delicious and nothing too much trouble for our wonderful hosts. The riverside walk into town was beautiful but if that is a problem the house is on a bus route so shouldn't be an issue to put people off. I stayed here with my mother who is 71 for a shopping weekend. We had a family room that was lovely.
First class B&B. Lovely genuine and friendly hosts. We can honestly say the breakfast was the best we have ever had in any B&B or hotel.Very very clean and comfortable rooms, hosts were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended !!!!! Easy 5 stars *****.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and in combination with the cosy room interiors and the very reasonable price I couldn'l lose the feeling I was visiting my favourite uncle and aunt.
For me the location right next to the university was perfect.

Very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. Clean, cosy rooms. Lovely shower! The location - it was great to walk into the city centre along the river in the mornings, and the B&B is right on the bus route, so once you've worked it out it's easy to get back. Would stay again.

Bed had top sheet to cover you during heatwave when duvet too hot. Very thoughtful.

Loved everything, we arrived early and Ian was more than happy to give us our room, so helpful and friendly, helped us get into the town and told us different things to do. Breakfast was amazing as well! Rooms were big and comfy. Great place to stay.
Owners very friendly and very helpful, Breakfast was lovely and house very clean. You can stroll along the river into the city of York at your leisure, I would defiantly stay here again and would recommend Midway House to other visitors to York.

Its proberly the best place we have ever stayed, so good we booked for a return in a couple of weeks and looking forward to it so from now on only one place to stay in york for us. We had a loverly time here.
We liked the friendly welcoming owners, the clean and comfortable room and the excellent cooked breakfast. Ian and Annette gave us plenty of ideas about what to see in York and where to go locally to eat.

I feel bad saying something negative, but a bit less convenient was that full breakfast couldnt be served earlier than 8 AM. However, on checking out very early the last night, I did have orange juice and cereals waiting for me in the lounge so I did not leave with an empty stomach.
Not such a big deal, but the toilet was very close to the wall, which I found a bit awkward. The road could be quite loud if you wanted the windows in the room open. No big complaints.
