The staff were friendly,helpul and professional.They could not fo enough for us.We were very surprised at the variety of the dinner menu and the "specials"available.We decided to eat in and enjoyed a superb well cpoked meal.Breakfast very good too and no traffic noise even though I was at the front of the hotel. the friendly greeting on arrival.family run hotel which made you feel at home.excellent choice of breakfast & meals.bedroom spacious & well stocked with tea & coffee,large bathroom,excellent shower.lovely bar& lounge area.20 min walk to york centre.bus service frequent.
kaikki arvostelut » The staff make the hotel, they make every effort to get to know you, the food is good the rooms nice, beds comfortable, the location is 1 mile walk to the city centre, can't fault the place,. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we had tried this hotel before on our visits to York. Very good little restaurant with a nice variety of meals on the menu. The staff were so nice and helpful, the dog welcome, the park is near and parking was available. unfortunately we didn't get chance to sample the restaurant due to sickness in the family and having to cancel reservation. Actually it seems to be a pretty nice hotel and I would really enjoy the stay if not the situation with arrival which i decribed. The deco in dining and Breakfast area was lovely. The breakfast was very nice. I cannot think of anything I was unhappy with. Faultless,. Absolutely nothing. N/A. Steep stairs to the room. £120 per night was a lot of money for what we got!. We had 5 beds in our room and 3 arm chairs. I was expecting a double bed and only 1 extra. We had to keep moving 1 bed to get to the dressing table and mirror. Actually in booking internet site it is stipulated that there is 24-hours front desk in this hotel which is not in fact true. When I've arrived in the hotel after midnight I had to call several times before a man in the bathrobe came and became to cry at me that I had avoken himself as also some children. He has also told that they have never had 24-hours front desk. This all situation was extremely uncomfortable/. There was a mix up with the booking, when we arrived we were told there was no booking and the hotel was full. After half an hour we were given a room. Room was nice but had no soap or shampoo.
