We loved Exton House from the minute I rang the door bell the welcome was so friendly . I felt like we had known them both for a long time. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was purrfect for us. A nice big window to sit by and relax in the evening I liked the way they let me use their computer to catch up with my news back home. My husband and I absolutely love the way Julie and John greet their guests. It's like visiting an old friend's house: going into the living room, have a cuppa and a lovely chat, rather than the usual "business like" check in. It's the most friendly English B&B I've ever stayed. The breakfast is lovely, made to order in the family-like kitchen by Julie, while John is chatting with you about great places to visit in Torquay. I surely understand why Exton House has an amazing score of 9.5 at l.
The hosts, John and Julie were so friendly and welcoming, that even though we arrived outside the usual check-in hours, we were welcomed with a cup of tea and friendly advice about things to do in the area. Our room was clean, although the bathroom is on the small side so you just need to be careful getting in and out. The breakfast was fantastic and service is excellent. We felt we were part of a home and can't recommend John and Julie's hospitality enough!.
John and Julie were a lovely couple and make everyone very welcome instantly .. They don't cut any corners as everything they have to offer is of great value along with the breakfast which was fabulous.. The cleanliness is wonderful.. I highly recommend this place and will certainly be back and next time with my children as this was a mini break for myself and partner whilst visiting.
Extremely welcoming and fabulous hospitality from Julie and John. There is you needed them and more than happy to help but allowed privacy and independence on the visit.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfy! The food was lovely, we were all stuffed at the end of it! The location was great it was only a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely go again. It was great value for money.
a wonderfull place to stay. We had a warm welcome by John and Julie. The room was good and the breakfast was wonderfull. We had some problems with the bed but this was solved immediately. Only good things about this place and his hosts and just 10 minutes walk to the beach and center. The kids loved the dinasaur museum.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with hospitality and friendliness the bedroom was comfortable with a spacious en suite and the breakfast was exemplary truly worthy of its 4star rating we will return and certainly reccomend to family/friends.
The whole experience was good and the hosts extremely helpful but the breakfasts were the the highlight of the visit. They were excellent, good food, well cooked and presented and a credit to the owners. Thoroughly recommended.
Friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble - even washing my son's clothes when he jumped into a stagnant pond! Comfortable clean room with Wifi in the rooms, modern flat screen TV in bedroom, great breakfast.

Everything! Especially John and Julie - absolutely wonderful hospitality couldn't have asked for better just brilliant! Children were just delightful and well behaved, lovely to have around.
The landlady welcomed us in and made a pot of tea, hotel was very clean and the room was a good size. In the morning the two course full English breakfast was cooked and served perfectly.

Unfortunately, as it was warm, we had the bedroom windows open and were awoken in the early hours by people shouting outside etc but this is only to be expected we suppose, bearing in mind the location. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and a great breakfast!.
