  I particularly liked the friendliness of the staff that dealt with us, as they were very welcoming and helpful, plus the overall cleanliness and quality of the hotel.   The location of the hotel is amazing, views of the castle and a minute walk to the town centre. The hotel itself is was very comfortable, with antique furnishings, and a fabulous open log fire. The staff were very attentative and extremely friendly, the food was excellent and there was a magnificent wine menu to choose from. Concerns over the heating in our lovely room were addressed straight away and we were given a suite at no extra cost which was superb. The breakfast was of a very high standard and I would recommend this superbly situated hotel to everyone.

  The staff and the service was brilliant. I stayed there with my partner and it was a lovely place to spend the weekend. The room was spotless and had everything you'd expect there to be plus more. The breakfast was really nice as well. We stayed in the lodge which is just round the back of the hotel. When the hotel heard about this in the morning they were very quick and help - The food was excellent, the staff were obviously well trained and friendly, there were plenty of small parts that added up to a very pleasant stay such as milk in jugs and not cartons, somewhere for the cartons at breakfast, good quality serviettes at mealtimes, clean corridors where it was difficult to keep clean (we ran a finger along a dado rail!) and, joy of joys there was a Country & Western night in their extension and not one sound escaped!
