  Can't fault the food, good honest home cooked food, extraemly good sized portions and very well cooked, not the usual "fine dining " served up in country inns, which is why we booked up at the pheasent, the mixed grill is a must!! not silly pots with drizzel on the plates but a good well presented dish.. well done!! also beer was very good and wel... mitä ihmiset sanovat » l kept. breakfast was again like the evening meal, superb, set me up for the whole day, did not eat again till near 8pm so thanks again and if we were - Great welcome from assistant manager Ryan. E He has excellent customer service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and comfort wise we experienced twice as much. For a 10 min drive stay at The Old Pheasant Inn

  The family room was an excellent size with a powerful shower and three full size beds. The staff were very friendly. It was in a lovely location a few miles from Oakham. We would definitely return. - Relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff, nice food, clean and comfortable bedroom, easy access to local main roads.

  Charming country house ambience. Very comfortable double bed. 2 minutes stroll to Uppingham School hall where we were attending a charity ball.-- so no worries about drinking and driving or needing a taxi. Very good traditional English breakfast - Christina and Ian were both very accommodating and friendly.
