I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

Everything from the cosy very well decorated room, warm hostess who was extremely helpful in finding activities and transport info. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a minute away from the lake. Breakfast was very nice and the access to the SPA at the Old McDonald is the cherry on top. Modern but tastefully decorated with good quality bed linen.
Our room had a lake view and a nice big window.
Breakfast room was spacious and breakfast was cooked in an open kitchen which gave a great athmosphere.

Wow, we travel alot but have rarley found such a friendly, quality Inn (hotel.) The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. the bathroom was well appointed with an amazing shower. the highlight though was the food and drink, an incredible atmosphere in the bar with real ales and whiskies galore. The food in the Bistro and restaurant is fantastic! we WILL be back!
