Nottingham Castle is just over 10 minutes’ walk away, and Nottingham Arena can be reached in under 20 minutes on foot. Chose the hotel purely because we were going to a gig at Rock City (next door), and for its proximity to the city centre. The hotel was very nice and clean, the rooms were gorgeous and the beds huge, very comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and polite, we ordered room service at half ten in the evening and this was not an issue for them. The position of the hotel, the quality of the room and the helpfulness of the staff.

The Welbeck is an excellent hotel all round, with friendly staff and very comfortable. Close to the city centre,convenient to entertainment and shops. Very comfortable. The room was big with a good sized bed with clean sheets. The cleaning ladies were very friendly and helpful when we struggled to get into the room they helped. Little bit expensive for breakfast!. Hotel bar poor it was in the resturant. window would not open. No drinking water in the room. reception seemed a little disorganised. The carpark nearby closes at 1 am, which means you have to either make sure you are back by then in the evenings or rely on taxis. There is no air conditioning in the lifts where it was stifling hot. beds a little uncomfortable with two matresses being pushed together and sheeted over. bed too hard. That the cleaners sorting the room above us were rather noisy and chatty in the morning.the mix of bar and high quality restaurant does not work. I paid over £20 for dinner and could hear foul language emanating from the young people at the bar. There were women in the restaurant; I doubt it would have made any difference had there been children there. The meal was spoiled by that experience. I shall not be staying there again. Just starting to get a little scruffy in places. For the price of the room, I think continental breakfast could be included. No, it was great, the roof bar was also good, different.The hotel seems to be a little bit dated. breakfast over priced for the quality offered. Ran out of hash browns at breakfast, also served a flat guiness in the bar, but was replaced once pointed out. Loo brush had seen better days.car parking is expensive (car back adjacent) even though you do get discount when you stay at the hotel. Noise from rock city night club next door. Areas in the rooms were quite dusty for example around the mirrors given that they are wooden if not cleaned dust shows.. Towels didn't smell very nice...
